Amitabh Bachchan recently teased his fans with the first glimpse of the big-budget and the much-awaited movie, 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Here's how much he was paid for his role.
Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary actor in Bollywood, never skips a chance to win the hearts of his fans with his jaw-dropping acting skills, charming personality, and more. With a career spanning over three decades, Amitabh has provided his fans with some outstanding movies. However, the veteran actor will be next seen in the much-anticipated movie, Kalki 2898 AD. It was on April 21, 2024, when the first glimpse of the dystopian film was released, and it instantly carved a space in the hearts of the cine lovers. Directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C. Aswani Dutt, Kalki 2898 AD is the first Indian film that was presented in San Diego Comic-Con's 'Hall-H'.
Taking to his IG handle, Amitabh Bachchan dropped the first glimpses of the most-awaited movie, Kalki 2898 AD, wherein he can be seen being covered with clothes and sitting in a temple. The poster itself was thrilling. If the reports are to be believed, the movie is made with a whopping budget of Rs. 600 crore, which will make it one of the highest-budget movies. In the movie, Amitabh will play the role of 'Ashwatthama'. In the teaser, we can see 'Ashwatthama' giving clues about the plot of the film, which will feature the impending end of Kali Yug. However, we recently stumbled upon Amitabh's fee for the movie. As per a recent report by Filmyfy, Amitabh received a whopping charge of Rs. 18 crore for his role in Kalki 2898 AD.

Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, Kalki 2898 AD will also feature some A-listers from showbiz, including Deepika Padukone, whose character in the film is 'Padma'. Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, Anna Ben, Pasupathy, Mrunal Thakur, and Rajendra Prasad will also be seen portraying their craft in the big-budget movie, Kalki 2898 AD.
For the unversed, the movie is inspired by Hindu mythology, and it will show the arrival of Kalki, the final avatar of Lord Vishnu. Prabhas will be seen in the lead role of the movie, i.e., 'Bhairava', an alter ego of Kalki, while Kamal Haasan will essay the role of 'Kali'. Although, there's still no information about the amount the industry stalwarts have charged for their roles in the movie. But, as per a recent report, Kamal Haasan has charged a staggering amount of a whopping Rs. 150 crore as the formidable villain in the movie.

Amid the excitement about Kalki 2898 AD, which will hit the theatres on June 20, 2024, a glimpse of Amitabh Bachchan's young avatar as 'Ashwatthama' set the internet on fire. Moreover, his digitally de-aged avatar left netizens excited, as they found similarities between Amitabh's digitally de-aged version and that of Abhishek Bachchan. For those who don't know, digital de-ageing is a process that helps the actors look a bit younger for the needs of screen portrayals.
