The actor, who has been entertaining audiences since many decades now, has been helmed no less than an inspiration by his fans even today. From movies, reality shows to advertisements and awards, Big B’s presence simply cannot be overlooked. For the unversed, the son of eminent Hindi poet, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Amitabh has delivered innumerable films at the box office, and been a recipient of multiple awards and accolades.
Well, the amount of success earned by Amitabh Bachchan is uncountable, and it is safe to say that the superstar has rightfully earned the stardom. The actor, who has an estimated net worth of more than Rs. 1578 crores resides in Mumbai, along with his wife, Jaya Bachchan and his children. The actor’s magnificent residence, Jalsa becomes a much-talked about place of recognition, since Big B makes an appearance for his fans outside of his home every Sunday. The opulent bungalow is spaced out over 10,125 square feet of space, and is estimated to be priced anywhere between Rs. 100-120 crore.

Recently, a report by the MoneyControl stated that a bungalow, right adjacent to Amitabh Bachchan’s residence, Jalsa has been put up for sale. The Deutsche Bank has decided to put this grand property under an auction with a reserve price of Rs. 25 crore, and an EMD of Rs. 2.50 crore. It should be noted that since the banks usually list out prices for auction a little lesser than the market value, similarly, the original price of this bungalow next to that of Amitabh Bachchan’s can be estimated to be priced at Rs, 35-40 crores in the market. The property has a carpet area of 1164 square feet, with an additional 2175 square feet of open space.
In one of his previous blogs, Amitabh Bachchan had opened up about that one sacrosanct place in his residence, Jalsa, that is his favourite spot. Without being quite direct in his expression, Big B narrated how his recording room, which he called as Saptaswar was the place where he could feel the power of music being divine. He also dropped a picture of the spot, where he could be seen surrounded a microphone and a mixer controller, along with different other gadgets of recording. He addressed:
“A whiff of a melody .. accidentally, conveyed to me during those wonderful moments at Saptaswar and it lingers on through the night and day and changes the very thoughts of what one is professed to do .. the power of music is divine .. it takes over all your thoughts and words and deeds .. and leaves you exhausted .. tired not in the sense of a physicality .. but exhausted with the idea of envy for them that possess that special quality of making music .."

Previously, in one of his social media posts, Amitabh Bachchan dropped a picture of him and his wife, Jaya Bachchan, from the sets of their film, Chupke Chupke. The frame featured a home in the background, and the actor penned a note to reveal that the place was nowhere else than his bungalow, Jalsa. Additionally, he also listed some of the other films of his that were shot in the place. In his words:
“Chupke Chupke “ our film by Hrishikesh MUKERJI.. closing today at 46 years. This house you see in the picture is Producer NC Sippy’s house .. we bought it, then sold it, then bought it back again .. rebuilt it .. this is our home now JALSA. Many films were shot here .. Anand, NamakHaram, Chupke Chupke, Satte pe Satta, and many more."
