Ahead of Diwali, Amitabh Bachchan went down the memory lane and reminisced the Diwali celebrations when Shweta Bachchan was a kid. The Bachchan family's monochrome photo exudes a 'happy' Diwali vibe.
Due to the pandemic, the Diwali celebrations are being cancelled keeping in mind the safety and concerns. While some are having a low-key celebration at home with family, some are reminiscing the throwback Diwali memories from their archive. The Bachchan family is known for the elitist parties they throw for their B-town friends and celebrating the festival of Diwali with a lot of fervour and happiness. However, this year, due to the pandemic and the demise of Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s mother-in-law, Ritu Nanda and Amitabh Bachchan’s dear friend, Rishi Kapoor, the family is in no mood for celebrations. In 2018 too, the Bachchan clan had opted for a quiet Diwali celebration at home due to the demise of Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s father-in-law. Amitabh Bachchan had shared some glimpses of the Diwali puja and low-key celebration at their residence with wife, Jaya Bachchan, son, Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. Big B had tweeted, “Shubham karoti kalyanam, aarogyam dhan sampadaa, shatru buddhi vinaashaya, deep jyoti namostutey. Diwali greetings of love and happiness.”
Ahead of Diwali, Amitabh Bachchan went down the memory lane and reminisced the Diwali celebrations when Shweta Bachchan was a kid. In the monochrome picture, while Big B looked dapper in a white kurta, Mrs Bachchan looked graceful as ever in a beautiful saree. The couple was all-smiles as lighting the phuljhadi with Shweta standing by their side, lost in her own thoughts. Big B tweeted, “Deepawali kia nek badhai aur shubhkaamnayein. Sukh, shanti, samridhi aur apaar sneh.”
Confirming that there will be no Diwali celebrations this year, Abhishek Bachchan had said in an interview with the SpotboyE, “It’s true. We had a death in the family this year. My sister Shweta’s mother-in-law (Ritu Nanda) passed away. Besides, who hosts parties at a time like this? Civilisation is going through the worst crisis ever. We all need to be as careful as possible. Observing the utmost social distance is the only option we have. And that too is not a guarantee against infection. Diwali parties and other social occasions are for now a distant dream.” (Also Read: Inaaya Naumi Kemmu's 'Scratch Rangoli' Is A Major Inspiration For DIY Diwali Decor [Picture Inside])
