She made her debut in the music video for Alisha Chinoy's song, Woh Pyar Mera and was then roped in for her first Bollywood film, Ab Ke Baras as a lead actress. In 2003, she got her breakthrough when she starred in Ishq Vishk opposite Shahid Kapoor, and from then, there was no looking back for her. In almost two decades of her career, Amrita Rao has been a part of more than 20 films and had left her mark with her every character. Amrita found her Life Partner in RJ Anmol and their Vivah was nothing but a secret intimate affair. Amrita Rao and Anmol had met for an interview in 2009 and little did they know that some years down the line, they will embark on their happily ever after journey as husband and wife. The lovebirds had kept their relationship under the wraps as they hadn’t wanted their personal life to be in constant scrutiny. On May 15, 2016, Amrita and Anmol had tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony and just like their relationship, the news of their marriage was also a pleasant surprise for their fans. It has been more than four years since Amrita and Anmol have been enjoying their married life and looks like they are all set to enter the new phase of their lives now i.e., parenthood.

A source close to the actress was quoted as saying by The Times of India, "She is loving this phase of her life. While people may not be aware of her pregnancy, those close to the couple are in the know. They conceived just before the lockdown and this phase came as a blessing in disguise as the couple could spend quality time together. To announce their wedding in 2016, Amrita Rao and Anmol had released a joint statement to the Hindustan Times. Revealing why they had kept their relationship and wedding a secret, Amrita and Anmol had stated, “We have always been private about our personal life. This relationship was sacred to the both of us from the moment it began. Making your relationship public can help you be in constant news, but we wanted only our work to do the talking. Marriage is a very personal affair and we thought of keeping it like that. We wanted to announce it at the right time, and we did!” In an interview with the IANS, Amrita had called herself the luckiest to find a life partner like Anmol. She had remarked, "It's been seven years of a blissful relationship and I'm the luckiest to find a soulmate in my life partner. We had a very small (wedding) ceremony with our immediate family members only."
Speaking of how love had blossomed between them and what attracted her towards him the most, Amrita Rao had said in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, “I am a huge retro fan, and I had proposed that Anmol and I do a Kishore Kumar show together. That’s when we first met and soon, we realized that we had a common love for old songs. It wasn’t love at first sight for us, but that evening, the first chord was struck. Gradually, we became friends. His positive aura attracted me, but I didn’t realize it for a very long time. We shared a rare comfort with each other.
