There’s no question to the fact that it is the most beautiful thing to read on the internet today. Both Anand and Sonam are extremely close with their in-laws, and a lot of its credit goes to their concrete bond. In an interview with Firstpost, Sonam had talked about adding her husband’s surname to her name, and Anand adding her name into his. She had stated, "Anand and I had a very long conversation you know, and we want to have kids eventually, and he had this one friend who had a very long name, his mother’s name, father’s name, blah blah blah. I said, see anyways it’s a patriarchal concept, I have my father’s last name, I don’t have my mother’s name, and I want to be part of your family as well, and he wanted to be a part of mine.”
The actress had also shared her thoughts on a much-asked question, whether the times are changing as actresses are tying the knot at the peak of their career or not? To which Sonam had replied, “People are still asking me these questions, which is sad. I don’t know if it’s changed that much. I know that Kajol, Dimple Kapadia, Nargis, Nutan and Waheeda Rehman have continued with their career post marriage. Madhuri (Dixit-Nene) did Devdas after tying the knot. But it’s still a long way to go. And we, as women, need to come together and be stronger. The choice shouldn’t be taken away. I hope to set an example by coming straight out of my wedding and doing what I do best.” (Also Read: Shahid Kapoor's Wife, Mira Rajput Shows How Love Is Looking Like At The Time Of Coronavirus Lockdown)
