Ananya Panday, the daughter of Bollywood actor Chunky Panday and Bhavna Panday, comes from a family of doctors. For the uninitiated, Chunky's father, Sharad Panday, was a renowned Indian heart surgeon, and his mother, Snehlata Panday, was a respected practitioner. But did you know that Ananya, too, wanted to be a doctor, just like her grandparents?
Ananya Panday, Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa sat for an interview during the promotional tour of their then-upcoming film, Gehraiyaan. In one such interactive session, the cast members were asked to name an alternative profession for Ananya if she was not an actor. To this, they all collectively agreed upon the profession of a social media influencer.
All this while, Ananya had to wear headphones with loud music on, and she could not hear the conversation. Then, she was asked the same question. Ananya revealed that she would have become either a doctor or a playschool teacher if not an actor. Her answer was not something her co-stars were expecting, and they all burst out laughing.
Just like her co-stars, netizens were also not expecting Ananya to have doctor and teacher as alternative career options. A user wrote, "Deepika's reaction is priceless." While another fan penned, "Medical field mein nepotism nahi chalta. Grandfather ya Great Grand father bi nahi bacha sakte if your IQ is in minus." A fan of her also defended her and said, "Just because the general public thinks that she is dumb doesn't mean that she is dumb and can't be a doctor."

On July 1, 2020, Ananya shared a glimpse of her grandparents' remarkable legacy on her Instagram. In one picture, her grandfather was seen holding a heart during India's first heart transplant surgery. In another, he was captured alongside Mother Teresa. The last picture was a heartwarming childhood memory of her grandparents. Ananya's heartfelt note read:
"Happy Doctor's Day to my Dadaji, Dadi and all the selfless, superhero doctors out there. Thank you for keeping us healthy and safe especially in these tough times. Supremely proud to have two doctors as my grandparents."
On the personal front, Ananya Panday was happy with Aditya Roy Kapur. The duo was often spotted together on holidays and events. Earlier, a report in the Bombay Times stated that Aditya Roy Kapur and Ananya Panday parted ways in March 2024. A source close to the ex-couple revealed that they have called off their relationship and are trying to move on while remaining cordial with one another. After the breakup, Ananya'a name was linked up with Hardik Pandya and Walker Blanco.
