Ananya Panday made her acting debut with 'Student of the Year 2' in 2019 at the age of 18. Now, the actress revealed that it was scary for her to put herself out on the public front at a young age.
Ananya Panday made her Bollywood debut in 2019, at the age of 18. Despite being a part of the industry for five years now, she was criticised for her acting skills until her last film, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan was released. She has worked in around eight films. But, she is always on the receiving end of criticism for her acting, statements, or for being a star kid. The Liger actress recently sat down for an interview with PTI. In the interview, she revealed how she felt about criticism and her fear about entering Bollywood.
Ananya Panday revealed that she felt a sense of fear when she was starting out her journey in the showbiz world. However, she finds that more fulfilling than trying to be fake in front of people. Also, Ananya said that when she was making her debut, she understood that the fear of putting herself out would always be part of her life. She was quoted as saying:
"As a young actor who started out when she was 18, there was fear, and there always will be fear. Putting yourself out there can be scary and fearful. Someone once told me that by not being yourself you might get 100 people to like you but being yourself even if five people like you in the long run, then that is much more fulfilling. And that is what I try to go by as it will give me joy."

The Kho Gaye Hum Kahan star has featured in a variety of roles for the past five years. She has tried to prove herself as an actor through all her projects. Despite gaining public attention from her debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2, she wanted people to take her seriously. She feels her choices in selecting projects have evolved over the years, and she is taking her career forward. She said:
“I always wanted people to take me seriously as an actor. It’s not that it (choices) changed after Gehraiyaan. I’m in my 20s, I’m growing up, and there are different things that I’m relating to."
Despite the trolling and fear, Ananya has been working hard in her career. The 25-year-old star enjoys her work. She has recently lent her voice to Inside Out 2. Ananya revealed that she overthought a lot in understanding the back story and emotions during the shoot. Also, she had to remember that she was a teenager and had to think like it. Overall, she felt the work experience was quite liberating.
