A few days ago, Anas Rashid aka Sooraj of Diya Aur Baati Hum announced that he is getting married to the girl of his parents’ choice. It was a pleasant surprise for all his fans as they really wanted to see him settle down!

He announced the news of his marriage saying that he will be getting married by the end of this year. People were really curious to know about his soon-to-be wife. In a brief interview to one of the leading dailies, Anas shared some details about his wife-to-be. He is getting married to a Chandigarh-based girl named Heena. She is a graduate and 14 years younger to him.

Isn’t she pretty? The couple is planning to have an intimate ring ceremony followed by a lavish nikah by the end of this year.
It isn’t a secret that he was earlier in a serious relationship with television actress, Rati Pandey. Their fans were hoping to see them settle down. But, the two ended their long-term relationship due to cultural differences.

Now that he is all set to tie the knot with a girl from his own religion, he is in a very happy and positive space. Adding to the happiness is the fact that the girl is of his parents’ choice. When asked that why didn’t he choose a girl from the television industry itself, he chose to speak the truth which was a bit sexist.
He said:
“Everything happened very quickly. I’m working in this industry; aur agar bahu bhi kaam karegi, toh ghar pe kaun rahega? (And even if my wife works here, who will be at home?) For my family, the fact that I’m working in this industry is enough.”
He trusted his parents’ choice so much that he hadn’t even seen Heena’s photo before he agreed to marry her. His mother had informed him about Heena and her family and that was enough for him to say yes.
