Mere ghar aayi ek nanhi pari, ek nanhi pari, chandni ke haseen rath pe sawaar, mere ghar ayi ek nanhi pari…. Every father’s life turns merry-go-round as soon as he gets blessed with a baby girl. Pink, Tiger Zinda Hai, Dear Zindagi, Soorma and Kargil Girl actor, Angad Bedi experienced the same when he and Neha Dhupia were blessed with an angel, Mehr Dhupia Bedi. It’s been 8 months that the doting father and mother have been enjoying their life with the little one. Neha and Angad walked down the aisle in an Anand Karaj ceremony on May 10, 2018, in a close-knit affair with only family members in the attendance. Later, everyone got to know that it was because of Neha’s pregnancy that the couple tied the knot secretly. Six months after their wedding, on November 18, 2018, the lovebirds welcomed their little baby, Mehr. Though the two choose not to share many pictures with Mehr on social media, they do talk about parenthood and her in their media interactions.
In a recent chat with Filmfare, Angad poured his heart about fatherhood with Mehr Dhupia Bedi, marriage with Neha Dhupia and his films. Talking about how fatherhood is going on with Mehr, Angad was quoted as saying, “Mehr’s father is in a happy space. She brings a lot of joy and laughter to our lives. Our home is complete now. Since she has come into our lives everything has changed for the better. Mehr has made both Neha and me better human beings. She has made us realise what family really means.” (Also Read: Priyanka Chopra's Mother, Madhu Chopra Reveals The Actress Was An Emergency C-Section Baby)
Further, when he was asked as to how he manages work and time with Mehr, Angad shared, “Neha and I, both have made a conscious decision to spend every waking hour with Mehr. We wake up early and spend as much time with her before we set off for our respective work. She’s turning out to be a very social child which is very heartening to see. She loves outdoor activities like going for a swim. She loves the water. We try and organise as many play dates for her as possible. She’s a happy baby.”
In the same interaction, Angad also revealed how his bond has altered with Neha after the birth of Mehr. The Soorma actor retorted, “Bond hasn’t altered much. Keeping the time constraint in mind, we prioritise each other even more now. We try and spend evenings together. We both like doing the same things. Our interests are similar so whether it’s going out to eat, training, running or even traveling, we try to plan in advance. Life is the same, just more planned now. We are still in the honeymoon period of our relationship.”
In an interview with the Hindustan Times earlier, Neha had revealed how she has been managing work and motherhood, “As parents, both I and Angad don’t make a big deal out of anything. And that’s how we end up doing something like this.” And when she was further probed to tell what habit she or Angad gave up after Mehr’s birth, she had replied, “Angad hasn’t, but I have and that’s sleeping.” (Checkout: Shahid Kapoor's Daughter, Misha Twins With Her Best Friend, Mommy, Mira Kapoor Clicks A Perfect Pic)
Angad will next be seen in The Zoya Factor and Kargil Girl, when further probed to tell about these two films, Angad remarked, “After The Verdict, I have The Zoya Factor with Fox Star, Inside Edge season 2 with Excel Entertainment and then I have a film with Jhanavi Kapoor produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the Dharma banner. This year looks promising as far as releases go. Hope I get to grow and work with makers like Shashank Khaitan and Shakun Batra.”
Talking about what kind of characters attract him, Angad quipped, “I get attracted to characters which have a lot of layering. I personally really like flawed characters because they are real. They have all the emotions to portray. I feel as an actor that’s a challenge and where we have reached as far as the audience is concerned, they like real performances. Hero/villain are a thing of the past. Here, if the character strikes a chord with the audience, only then you are accepted as an actor, else not.” (Do Read: Neha Dhupia And Angad Bedi Post An Adorable Family Moment With Daughter, Mehr On 8-Month Birthday)
