Popular Bollywood actor, Anil Kapoor has been roped in as the host for the upcoming season of the reality show, 'Bigg Boss OTT'. Here's how much he's getting for his stint.
Anil Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the most acclaimed actors in the Indian film industry. Over the course of four decades in the industry, the 67-year-old actor has starred in some blockbuster hits, including Mr. India, Tezaab, Beta, Andaz, Judaai, Animal, and much more. After his successful stint as an actor, Anil Kapoor will now host the third season of the popular show, Bigg Boss OTT. Here’s how much the actor is earning from his latest stint.
Bigg Boss OTT 3 will start airing on Jio Cinema on June 21, 2024. According to a report by Siasat Daily, the 67-year-old will receive Rs. 2 crore for each episode, totalling Rs. 4 crore per week. Anil Kapoor’s fee for his stint on the show is reportedly much lower than what Salman Khan used to get. Meanwhile, Karan Johar reportedly received somewhere between Rs. 2-2.5 crore per episode for Bigg Boss OTT 1.

For the uninitiated, Bollywood’s bhaijaan, a.k.a. Salman, has been hosting the reality TV show, Bigg Boss since 2010. His presence in the show has led to its unprecedented popularity. As per the same report, the actor charged a whopping Rs. 2-2.5 crore per episode for the initial seasons, and then his fees gradually increased. For the most recent season, i.e., Bigg Boss 17, Salman reportedly got somewhere close to Rs. 350 crore. He also received a similar paycheck for Bigg Boss OTT 2, receiving Rs. 12.5 crore per episode.
On June 7, 2024, an X (formerly Twitter) user took to the social media platform and shared a picture of Anil Kapoor from the sets of Bigg Boss OTT 3. The actor looked intense as he was drenched in rain. In the leaked glimpse, he was wearing an all-black outfit and was surrounded by several background artists.

After the show's makers officially announced Anil Kapoor as the host of the upcoming season, the actor spoke to IANS and shared his excitement about being the face of BB OTT 3. He mentioned that they are a dream team as both the show and himself are young at heart. In his words:
“Bigg Boss OTT and I are a dream team! We're both young at heart; people often say - jokingly - that I'm reverse ageing, but Bigg Boss is - seriously- timeless. It feels a bit like going back to school, trying something new and exciting. Having said that, I've always approached all my projects with sincerity and a commitment to hard work and I'm going to bring that same energy (times 10!) to Bigg Boss! Unscripted reality has something for everyone – laughter, drama, and surprising twists, and I can't wait to bring my own flavour to it!”
