In a recent interview, Miss Pakistan President, Sonia Ahmed opened up about certain circumstances that caused her and her team to revoke Shafina Shah's Miss Pakistan beauty pageant title.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial movie, Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the leading role, grossed Rs. 917.82 crores worldwide. Thus, it became one of the hugely loved movies of 2023. Moreover, it featured many beautiful actors from around the world. One of them was Miss World Pakistan 2023, Shafina Shah, who was seen as Bobby Deol, aka 'Abrar's second wife. However, now the national director-cum-President of Miss Pakistan, Sonia Ahmed, made some shocking revelations about Shafina, which led to the revoking of the latter's beauty pageant titles.
In an interview with a leading portal, Sonia Ahmed talked about Miss World Pakistan 2023, Shafina Shah, who was also seen in an impactful role in the film, Animal. Sonia revealed that Shafina and her mother, Atia Shah kept pursuing the President of Miss Pakistan, Sonia for funds. For the same, Sonia also arranged for an opportunity for Shafina in March 2024. However, following this, when Shafina's mother yet again asked for funds from Sonia, the latter denied it completely. In response, Shafina posted a video on social media asking for a more supportive national director. Sonia stated:
"We were very happy to send Shafina Shah to international pageants, but since November 2023 her mother kept trying to get me to use my contacts to fund her movie. I did speak to both Shafina and her mother regarding the opportunities out there in Pakistan, but I did not want to pursue their project. Recently in (March 2024) when I gave Shafina the opportunity to go to another international pageant, her mother contacted me the same time and asked for 20,000 British pounds. I politely said that I will look into it and then a few days later, Shafina Shah made a video on her social media saying that she is looking for a more supportive national director."

Further, Sonia shared that after Shafina's video post, which was broadcasted to over 140,000 of her followers, she tried numerous times to reach her and discuss the matter, but the latter did not clarify her claims. Afterwards, the President of Miss Pakistan revealed how her company has been constantly making arrangements for Shafina, and despite the latter being over-aged for the beauty pageant, she was allowed to participate. Moreover, revealing how she along with her team has been enhancing Shafina's public image constantly, Sonia shared:
"Over the past year, the Miss Pakistan Company support has been unwavering and extensive for Shafina. It was through the title and the efforts of the President that Shafina was granted the opportunity to participate in Miss Global despite being 38 years old (born on October 13, 1986), surpassing the age limit of 33. Securing that position required months of diligent work on her part. She was continuously promoted in the media, for her minor role in the movie Animal, dedicating considerable time and effort to enhance her public image which included writing press releases for all her work for free. As a full time uber driver, Shafina Shah does not have a schedule to do all the media, yet we made sure that we were helping her from all angles."
In the same conversation, Sonia then shared that even regrettably, Shafina's actions forced her to revoke her titles, including Ms Pakistan World, Miss Global Pakistan and Universal Woman Pakistan. Sonia also mentioned that she would take legal action against those who will do unauthorized use of the titles for Shafina's personal endeavours. She mentioned how earlier, Charitable organizations like OPSA and Pakistan Cleft Lip and Palate Association have associated with the titles, without her consent. But now they will face legal repercussions in Pakistan for unauthorized usage of such company's property.

Ending the conversation, Sonia Ahmed further stated that over the years, she and the Miss Pakistan beauty pageant team have worked immensely hard to help Shafina deal with her financial responsibilities. But her mother, Atia never stopped harassing them for the money. Thus, she had to make the final decision to revoke Shafina's titles. Sonia concluded:
"We have done our best to support her throughout the year however it is not right to blame a company if we cannot absorb the financial responsibilities of their movies. We have also advised her to ask her mother to cease sending us messages soliciting funds for a movie project that both the mother Atia Shah and daughter Shafina Shah are allegedly planning. Furthermore, if my lack of enthusiasm for providing financial support has led you to defame me, rest assured that I have no intention of contributing any funds towards any movie projects you may be contemplating."
