Anirudh Ravichander, commonly known as Anirudh, is one of the best music directors in the country. Although the composer mainly works in the Tamil industry, his work is loved and appreciated nationwide and overseas. The 32-year-old music producer is also a composer and singer. However, most of the success that he has achieved in his professional career so far came from his work as a music director.

The famous music director, Anirudh Ravichander was born on October 16, 1990, to his parents, Ravi Raghavendra and Lakshmi Ravichander. While his father is a renowned actor, his mother is also a classical dancer, which clearly explains how Anirudh was surrounded by art and creativity right from birth.

Talking about Anirudh Raghavender’s family connections, the critically-acclaimed music composer is South superstar, Rajinikanth’s wife, Latha Rajinikanth’s nephew. The family connection makes Aishwarya and Soundarya his cousins. Not only this, late filmmaker, Krishnaswami Subrahmanyam is Anirudh’s great-grandfather.

Jawan composer, Anirudh Ravichander’s educational background

Anirudh Ravichander is a graduate of the prestigious Loyola College in Chennai. After which, he learnt piano at Trinity College of Music, London, which gave him a lot of exposure, as he was also a part of a fusion band back there. The music director came back to India and did a sound designing course from Soundtech-Media, Chennai.

When Anirudh Ravichander revealed his principal used to hate him

Once in an old interview with a media house, Anirudh Ravichander recalled the time when he was in college and admitted that his principal and professors used to hate him. When the composer was asked to reveal the reason behind it, Anirudh revealed that poor attendance was the reason behind it.

However, he also added that later when he started making a name for himself at college with his band, his principal once called him and told him:

“I am proud to have you in my college”.

Anirudh Ravichander made his debut with his cousin, Aishwarya’s husband, Dhanush

The 2012 psychological thriller, 3 featured the debuts of two people, Dhanush as director and Anirudh Ravichander as a music director. When the composer was studying at Loyola College, he got the opportunity to work with Dhanush, and he instantly grabbed it. The song, Why This Kolaveri Di! turned out to be a massive hit, and it gave a perfect start to Anirudh's career as a music director.

In July 2023, the trailer of Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan was dropped by the makers, and it instantly won the hearts of a million people. However, one thing that caught everyone’s attention was the BGM score of the film.
