Earlier, Anita revealed sacrificing her career due to her past relationship, and now the actress revealed some more details about the same.
In an interview with Hauterrfly, Anita Hassanandani shared that she even had gone against her mom's will for one of her relationships that stayed long. The actress said that her ex-beau was a Muslim, and she was a Hindu, which came as a concern for her mom. Anita mentioned that her mom didn't actually forbid it, but always had that little doubt inside of her. Talking more about it, Anita stated how she and her ex-beau were good individually but not together. Anita can be quoted as saying:
“That was one of the first few long-ish relationships of my life, and I’d also gone against my mom because he was from another culture. He was Muslim, and I’m a Hindu. She didn’t outright forbid it, but she always had her concerns. We were good individually, but we weren’t good for each other. It didn’t work out, and that’s that.”
In the same interview, Anita Hassanandani hinted that Eijaz Khan wanted to change her. She mentioned that it cannot be love when a person tries to change the other one only to love them. She regretted changing way too much for the sake of love and stated that it took her one year to move on from that person. Recalling how she moved into her best friend's house, and how the latter would pep her up every morning, Anita stated:
"Somebody is wanting to change you in order to be in love with you, it’s not love. But I didn’t realise it then, because I was in love, and I was willing to change for the person I loved. I wish I hadn’t changed all that much, and been myself. I would’ve been a different person. It took me over a year to move on. I literally moved into my best friend’s house because I was so low. Every morning, she would pep me up…”
In the same interview, Anita Hassanandani was asked to reveal three red flags from her past relationship. The actress said that one shouldn't be with someone who tries to change the other. She added that one should always keep in check her partner's phone, and if that person is hiding, then something is up. The third red flag she mentioned was that one should find a balance to prioritise correctly and not be blown away if someone tries to take one's friends and family from them.
Earlier, in an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Anita Hassanandani shared the thing she regrets most about her past relationship. The actress said that she didn't take several big opportunities in her professional life when she was in a relationship with Eijaz. The actress mentioned that she was not forced, but there had been a few times when the actor wouldn't let her do a particular movie or scene, and she would let go of those opportunities.
