After Nandamuri Balakrishna pushed Anjali on the stage during an event, the latter penned a note mentioning that she shares a 'great friendship' with him. Netizens criticised her statement.
Telugu actor-turned-politician, Nandamuri Balakrishna has been all over the news ever since a video of him pushing an actress went viral on social media. The South actor was invited as a special guest to the pre-release event of the film, Gangs Of Godavari, starring Anjali, Neha Shetty, and Vishwak Sen. In the viral clips, Nandamuri was seen pushing Anjali after she reportedly couldn’t hear what he was saying, which has now led to a public uproar. Even the people present on the stage were in utter shock.
After the incident, Anjali posted her two cents on it. She took to her social media accounts and shared a montage featuring various clips from the event. In a note, the actress mentioned that she has been friends with Nandamuri for a long time and they have always maintained mutual respect for each other. She also added that it was wonderful to share the stage with him. In her words:
“I want to thank Balakrishna Garu for gracing the Gangs of Godavari pre-release event with his presence. I would like to express that Balakrishna garu and I have always maintained mutual respect for each other and We share a great friendship from a long time. It was wonderful to share the stage with him again.”

However, this post did not go down well with the netizens. They took to the comment section of the X (formerly Twitter) post and penned down their thoughts on Anjali’s efforts to defend the Telegu actor. One user said, “Too late to defend him now.” Another one wrote, “Forced tweet! that’s okay it’s ur choice!! But deep down inside you know what happened!” Meanwhile, a third netizen commented, “I understand you can't go against the system...because the system is under control, You deserve better... And the Lord will bless you 1 day wait for the time.”
Anjali’s Gangs Of Godavari co-star, Vishwak Sen also tried to defend Nandamuri Balakrishna regarding the incident. He took to his Instagram stories to share his thoughts on the matter. He asked people to stop the hate speech. Vishwak also mentioned that his team is gold and their guest, Nandamuri is ‘double gold’.

On May 30, 2024, after the clips from the Gangs Of Godavari pre-release event went viral, several known names came out in support of Anjali and slammed the Telegu superstar, Nandamuri for his improper behaviour on the stage. Popular TV actor, Nakuul Mehta said, “Not one person expressed their discomfort. Not one. Ridiculous behaviour by the gent.” Meanwhile, the popular singer, Chinmayi Sripaada also took to her X account to share her thoughts on the incident and slammed those who pointed out that Anjali had laughed after Nandamuri pushed her.
