When Aashiqui 2 released, it not only gave our industry two exceptional actors, Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor but a talented singer as well. He rose to fame with the song, Sunn Raha Hai and since then there has been no looking back for him. We are talking about the singer-music composer, Ankit Tiwari who crooned his voice to Bollywood songs like, Galliyan, Tu Hai Ki Nahi, Dil Cheez Tujhe De Di, the latest track Yaad Hai from the film Aiyaari, and many more.
Apart from his professional successes, he is on cloud nine because he has finally found his inspiration to write more such romantic songs. Ankit got engaged to his lady-love Pallavi Shukla on February 20, 2018. Sharing the first picture with his wife and introducing her to the world, Ankit wrote the caption on Instagram, “I will spend an eternity loving you, caring for you, respect you, showing you every day that I hold you as high as the stars. #finallyengaged.” (Also Read: Narayani Shastri Talks About Ex-BF Gaurav Chopra's Secret Wedding And His Wife Hitisha Cheranda)
While Ankit looked dapper in a polka-dots tuxedo, Pallavi looked ravishing in a bright red saree. Things moved quite fast for the couple. It was October 2017, when Ankit’s dadi met Pallavi on a train from Kanpur to Delhi, and within three months, their families zeroed down their wedding date. After the engagement ceremony, the couple will have haldi, sangeet and mehendi ceremonies. And finally, they will be pronounced husband and wife in a big fat North Indian wedding on February 23 in Kanpur. The lovebirds will host a lavish reception ceremony on February 26 in Mumbai.
For the unfamiliar ones, Pallavi is a mechanical engineer, living in Banglore for the past 10 years. It is an arranged marriage for the couple, and Ankit’s dadi played the Cupid between the two. Describing the first meeting with his would-be-wife, he said, “Once dadi announced that Pallavi would be the family’s daughter-in-law, everyone agreed. I’m happy that the family is happy and a little nervous too. She is a very sweet and simple girl. During our first meeting, there were 10 others seated between us.” (Also Read: Dipika And Shoaib's Wedding Celebrations Begin With Fun-Filled Haldi-Kalire Ceremony, Pics Inside!)
Adding further he also remarked that he has introduced her and her family to his work. He has also shown her his life in Mumbai where she’ll be living after marriage. In an interview with the Times Of India, Ankit shared his feelings and was quoted as saying, “It's still not sunk in. I actually don't know how I am feeling. Khush bhi hoon, nervous bhi.” He talked about the arranged marriage set up, and why he didn’t think of doing love marriage. He retorted, “She's a very sweet girl and already gets along very well with everyone at home, which is what matters most, as ours is a very close-knit family. My parents had never stopped me from having a love marriage, but my experience with love has been rather bad. So, I am happy with the choice my parents have made for me. After all, every parent wants the best for their child. It's going to be the start of a new phase in my life and I want it to be a really good one!”
Congratulations to the newly-engaged couple, Ankit and Pallavi. You both look amazing together.
