Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput had shared one such relationship, where despite their breakup, the two had always prayed for each other’s well-being and had kept one another close to their hearts. Sushant’s death had left Ankita devastated and now she has shared the ordeal of dealing with this huge loss in her life. She is surely trolled for living her life after SSR’s death, but for her, it is the hardest reality that she has to deal with in her life.
In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Ankita Lokhande shared how she had dealt with Sushant’s death. Sharing how for a few days she was lost and people had started judging her, she said, “See for ten to twelve days I did not know what is happening because of Sushant’s death.. I don’t know how to explain but yeah it was very bad. But people started judging me for not putting his picture (on Instagram) on the same day. What do they think? What do they expect from us? Koi apna chala jata hai toh kya hum photo dalte hain sabse pehle?”
She further shared that she has never posted Sushant’s picture on her social media as she has no guts to write RIP for him. She added, “You won’t believe till today I have not ever posted any pictures of Sushant with RIP. I have no guts to write something like that for him. Because I can’t say rest in peace Sushant. People questioned me why I didn’t put his picture on the very same day of his death. I don’t know these Twitter or Instagram people. Inn log ki ek alag hi duniya hai. What I faced…I don’t want people to go through that ever.”
Ankita further shared that she is normal now and Sushant’s death and its impact will always be with her. Stating how his death had impacted her and the entire nation and how she still connects with him, she mentioned, “But it’s okay… it’s their prerogative. This thing will always be with me (Sushant’s death). Now I have come to that point where I am normal. But we all have gone through so much. His family, me and my parents. I think the whole world was crying for him. Yesterday, there was this lady who came up to me and she was just crying. And sometimes I just feel like I can talk to him. So I was telling him, ‘tumhare liye dekho log kitna ro rahe hain…tumse kitna pyaar karte the sab’.”
She further added that she was never in the picture before SSR’s death and it was after his death that people brought her into the frame. In her words, “So if people who didn’t have any relation with him are suffering so much then how can these people (trolls) judge me who has been so close to him. When Sushant died. I wasn’t in the picture but then suddenly people started relating me with him. Then I became perfect for him. Tab kahan the yeh log jab mera breakup ho raha tha? (Where were these people when I broke up with Sushant?).”

In the same interview, Ankita had also revealed the reason behind her break-up with Sushant. Ankita had admitted that her silence over this question for all this time had backfired her. The actress had revealed that it was her late ex-beau, who had asked for the break-up. Ankita had said, "People misunderstood me. People today come and tell me 'you left Sushant' How do they know this? Nobody knows my story. I am not blaming anyone here. Sushant made his choice very clear, he wanted to go ahead in his career, and he chose it and moved on. But for two and a half years, I was dealing with so many things. I was not in that state of mind where I could just work. I am not that person who could have easily moved on and started working. So, for me, it was very difficult, but my family stood by me."
