In a recent interview, Ankita Lokhande recalled her journey on 'Bigg Boss 17' and revealed that it took a toll on her mental health.
Popular actress, Ankita Lokhande entered the Bigg Boss 17 house in October 2023, but her journey on the show wasn’t easy. Her husband, Vicky Jain also accompanied her to the Salman Khan’s show, and the duo had several major fights and ugly arguments. Time and again, the actress was accused of being possessive towards her husband, and she felt that the latter was emotionally unavailable to her.
Now that Ankita Lokhande is out of the show, she sat for an interview with the news agency PTI and revealed how Bigg Boss 17 took a toll on her mental health. Talking about the same, the actress shared that she was not an overthinker before, but the situations inside Bigg Boss 17 made her one. Ankita further claimed that it might take some time for her to recover from it. She said:
“I feel I need to recover from that because it’s taken a toll on my mental health. I was never a deep thinker but the situations were such that I became one. I’m trying to recover, and understand a few things of what has happened in my life. It will take time but eventually I’ll come out of it.”

The 39-year-old actress added that she is trying to cope with things, and her entire family is there to support her. Vicky, who Ankita felt was distant towards her inside the BB house, has now been there with her in these difficult situations. However, the actress shared that the recovery process depends on how she takes things and moves on. In her words:
"Vicky is there, my family, my mom and everybody from Vicky’s family is also there but eventually it’s about how I take things and move on. I’m trying to cope with things.”
Bigg Boss 17 ended on January 28, 2024, and Ankita Lokhande became the third runner-up of the show. During the same interaction, Ankita revealed that she was shocked when she heard about her eviction, but she was not upset about it. Adding that she has enjoyed the journey, Ankita said:
“But when I learnt about my eviction, I was quite okay with that. I was not upset, I was shocked. I thought I had a fandom that was supporting me but I think somewhere it was lacking. I have enjoyed the journey.”

In yet another interview with The Indian Express, Ankita Lokhande talked about staying friends with her other Bigg Boss 17 co-contestants. Responding to the same, she shared that she is in a space where she doesn't want to invite people into her life anymore as she wants to protect herself. She added:
“My experiences in life have not managed to make a pro at gauging relationships. But yes, now I am in that space where I don’t want to call people and invite them into my life. If I feel someone wants to be friends with me, more than welcome. I always try to forgive and move on, but now I don’t want to do that. I want to take a stand for myself, I need to protect myself. Sometimes your giving nature can get harmful for you only. So yes, I don’t want to be so giving now, that someone walks over me.”
On the work front, Ankita Lokhande will soon be sharing the screen with Randeep Hooda in the upcoming movie, Veer Savarkar.
