In a recent interview, Ankita Lokhande recalls her horrific experience of facing the casting couch at a young age.
Ankita Lokhande is one of the popular names in the television industry. It was in 2009 when the actress made her acting debut with Ekta Kapoor’s popular show, Pavitra Rishta, and since then, there has been no looking back for her. With her debut show, Ankita gained huge popularity and became a household name.
Post her stint in Pavitra Rishta, Ankita was seen in many movies and reality shows. However, getting into showbiz wasn’t a piece of cake for the actress as she had to face a lot of troubles in the initial phase of her career. In a recent interview, Ankita recalled facing the casting couch when she was quite young.

Ankita was just 19 and was actively giving auditions as she desperately wanted to be an actress. In an interview with Hautterfly, Ankita spoke about her experience with casting couch and said:
“Maine South film ke liye audition diya tha. Mujhe call aaya ki aap sign karne aa jao. Mai bahot khush thi, toh maine apni maa ko bola main sign kar ke aati hu. Mujhe bhi doubt tha ki itni aasani se kaise hua?”
Although the actress didn’t mention anyone's name, she clearly narrated the incident as what exactly she was asked to do. Recalling the horrific experience, Ankita shared:
“I played smart and asked again, toh mujhe kaha gaya, 'Aapko producer ke sath sona padega.' I told him that, 'I don't think your producer needs talent. He just needs a girl to sleep with, and I am not that one' and I just walked off.”

It was after Ankita Lokhande participated in India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj that she bagged her first show, Pavitra Rishta. In 2019, Ankita ventured into Bollywood and starred in Kangana Ranaut's film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. She also starred in the action thriller film, Baaghi 3 alongside Tiger Shroff, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh.
On the personal front, Ankita Lokhande was in a steady relationship with actor, Sushant Singh Rajput. The duo dated for some years and broke up. In 2021, Ankita Lokhande tied the knot with businessman, Vicky Jain in a grand ceremony. Ankita and Vicky recently participated in the reality show, Bigg Boss 17, where their constant fights grabbed a lot of limelight.
On the work front, Ankita Lokhande will be next seen in Randeep Hooda starrer Veer Savarkar.
