In a recent interview, Anne Hathaway opened up about the challenging phases of her life - both on the personal and professional front, and how she finally came out of them.
American actress, Anne Jacqueline Hathaway was among the world's highest-paid actresses in 2015. However, she also faced a challenging period in her life—both on the personal and professional front. Gradually, she came out of it, and now, the actress has opened up about it. Talking about Anne's personal life, she has been married to actor and producer, Adam Shulman since September 29, 2012. They have two sons, Jonathan Rosebanks (born in 2016) and Jack Shulman (born in 2019).
During an interview with Vanity Fair, Anne Hathaway opened up about another challenging phase of her life. She mentioned suffering a miscarriage when she was performing in an off-Broadway play, centred on motherhood. Recalling how she had to keep it accurate for the sake of the enactment, she shared:
“The first time it didn’t work out for me. I was doing a play and I had to give birth onstage every night. It was too much to keep it in when I was onstage pretending everything was fine. I had to keep it real otherwise."

In the same conversation, Anne recalled how portraying such a character, who is in her labour and then gives birth to a child, and that to when in her personal life, she faced a miscarriage, was extremely painful for her. Relating her ordeal with all the other women, who are dealing with their own losses, the actress mentioned that she is in support of them. She added:
"So when it did go well for me, having been on the other side of it — where you have to have the grace to be happy for someone — I wanted to let my sisters know, ‘You don’t have to always be graceful. I see you and I’m with you’.”
In the same conversation, Anne revealed that shortly after she bagged the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in the film, Les Miserables and her co-hosting gig on the same platform, in 2013, she started facing criticism and online toxicity, and this also caused toubles for her to get further opportunities in Hollywood. Reflecting on this challenging period, she revealed the and the pivotal role of director, Christopher Nolan in her professional front. Expressing her gratitude towards him, she said:
“A lot of people wouldn’t give me roles because they were so concerned about how toxic my identity had become online. I had an angel in Christopher Nolan, who did not care about that and gave me one of the most beautiful roles I’ve had in one of the best films that I’ve been a part of. I don’t know if he knew that he was backing me at the time, but it had that effect. And my career did not lose momentum the way it could have if he hadn’t backed me.”

In May 2023, many eminent celebrities had attended the Bulgari event. However, in a video, Priyanka Chopra looked every bit embarrassed after Anne Hathaway had seemingly ignored her. The video showed Priyanka walking towards Anne to hug her, but the latter hugged Zendaya and walked away, leaving the former embarrassed. But as soon as the video went viral, netizens started expressing their disappointment over Anne's rude behaviour towards Priyanka, and the former got mixed reactions on the same.
