Anupam Kher shared his wife, Kirron Kher's health update as she fights blood cancer. He also shared how the family is dealing with the situation.
We fear the C-word all our life, however, one of the major facts about it is that it can be cured. We have seen many celebrities fight back cancer with all the zeal and continuing their life happily. From Sonali Bendre to Tahira Kashyap, Yuvraj Singh to Anurag Basu, there are many examples, who prove that if you are strong-willed, there is nothing that can stop you. Actress and politician, Kirron Kher is also dealing with blood cancer and is on her road to recovery.

After a series of reports about Kirron Kher’s cancer diagnosis, it was on April 1, 2021, when Anupam Kher and Sikander Kher had confirmed that Kirron is diagnosed with blood cancer. In their statement, they had informed that Kirron Kher has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. They had also mentioned that they are blessed with a brilliant set of doctors and Kirron is a fighter.
Now, in a conversation with the Hindustan Times, Anupam Kher was asked about his wife, Kirron Kher’s health and he replied, “She is much better.” He then shared how their family is dealing with the situation and said, “It is a very natural phenomena to support people near you, and that is what I have been doing. Aur baaki toh kuch nahi kar sakte hum. Doctors are doing their best job. We have got the best doctors around and I can only be positive and optimistic and believe in the brilliance of doctors and pray.”
Anupam Kher further shared that his brother is also a cancer survivor and thus, he knows that there is hope. He added, “My brother is also a cancer survivor, [so there is hope]. Being optimistic and choosing to be happy always helps in every way. Optimism does help in the fight. My grandfather used to say, ‘Don’t go through the problem twice. Once when you are thinking about it, and next when you are going through it’. So, mein uske baare mein itna kyun sochun.”

Anupam Kher recalled another life lesson shared by his grandfather and added, “You can be happy by thinking how many people are worse than you or you can be sad thinking how many people are better than you.”
In May 2021, there were rumours in the media regarding Kirron Kher's health. It was claimed that the veteran actress and BJP member had passed away. Anupam Kher had put an end to these rumours by sharing his wife’s health update. He had tweeted, "There is a rumour going around about #Kirron’s health. It is all false. She is doing absolutely fine. In fact, she got her 2nd vaccination done for COVID this afternoon. I will request people not to spread such negative news. Thanks. Stay safe. @KirronKherBJP."
On Kirron Kher's 69th birthday on June 14, 2021, Anupam Kher had shared an array of pictures and had captioned it as "Happy birthday dearest #Kirron!! May God give you long and healthy life. May the Almighty grant you all the happiness in the world! People all over the world love you for the person you are! You are honest, fair, sincere and forthright! You deal with every situation in life with an amazing inner strength and grace! Stay healthy and safe! Love and prayers always!"
