In one of his recent interviews, Anupam Kher expressed his desire to be starred in an action film, and revealed if he could give a tough competition to John Abraham.
Anupam Kher has been one of the most versatile actors in the film industry, and therefore the love and adulation he receives is absolutely synonymous to his fame. From acing elderly roles, to prominent character roles, his career has witnessed some of the most versatile works of all times.
The actor’s recently released film, Uunchai has garnered a lot of appreciation and love for his role already, and it seems that Anupam is basking the glory of his massive success likewise. While his terrific acting mettle needs no introduction at all, people have hailed this film to be adding another feather to his cap.

In a recent interview on Mashable’s The Bombay Journey series post the phenomenal success of his recent film, when he was asked about the new kind of roles, he really wishes to do next. Anupam Kher expressed his desire to experiment and work on the genre of action films. However, his response was more in terms of gestures, as he flexed his biceps to react. Nevertheless, when further questioned if his fitness would give the classic action hero, John Abraham a run for money, he responded in a quirky way. In his words:
“But we expect that from John. With all due respect to him, usse mere jitna lamba dialogue bulwa lo na.”

However, while this comment was surely taken in a fun way, Anupam was quick to settle the matter and agree about John’s talents. In his words:
“He can do it, I’m sure… Sometimes, an actor gets fixed in his own image, I think it’s important to break the mould. And you can expect great action from John, he has such a wonderful body, but I think he can also act very well. He does.”
In another interview with Hindustan Times, Anupam also revealed to have gone bankrupt in an early phase of his career and said he was unsure of financial management back then. Recalling the past days when he tried to rebuild his career, he said:
“In 2004, because I am not a business-minded person, I almost went bankrupt and then started all over again. I am a sum total of my failures. People started calling me thespian, veteran, and legend - which meant you should be given a lifetime achievement award and walk into the sunset. But I refused to do that. I went abroad and did an American series. After turning 60, people think about retirement but I started building my body.”
