In a recent interview, Anurag Kashyap discussed several instances of the entourage costs demanded by the actors, which shocked him completely.
Anurag Kashyap is one of the acclaimed filmmakers in the Hindi film industry. Time and again, he has entertained the masses with some of the classic movies. Besides directing movies, Anurag also showcases his acting skills by appearing in some films. He will be next seen as a villain in Disney+ Hotstar's upcoming series, Bad Cop. Apart from that, he is gearing up for the release of his much-awaited film, Kennedy. Ahead of that, he revealed his take on the ongoing debate about entourage costs demanded by the actors.
In an interview with Janice Sequeira, Anurag Kashyap opened up about his experiences when he was shocked to see the huge demands made by the actors while shooting a film. Talking about one such instance of the entourage costs, Anurag claimed an actor's chef once charged the producer a huge amount of Rs. 2 lakh per day. However, he was completely shocked when he found out the little amount of food served to the actor on his platter. Anurag said:
“The most ridiculous demand is that there's some chef who charges Rs. 2 lakh per day to make food that looks like… ye khana hai ya birdfeed. Itna chhota sa aata tha. Health ka tha thoda problem. Main sirf yehi khata hu.”

In the same conversation, Anurag mentioned he would have been richer if he had become a hair and makeup artist, as they charge Rs. 75,000 daily. He also talked about another incident when an actor demanded that his driver be sent to a five-star hotel to get him a burger of a specific bread with vegan-free ingredients. Then, the driver had to go to a remote location, which took three hours on one side of his journey. Narrating the same, Anurag mentioned that the burger would have gone cold by the time it reached the actor. Calling all such costs completely unnecessary, Anurag shared:
“It's the fault of the producers and their agents. I don't know why the producers allow it on their sets. It doesn't happen on my sets.”
Well, not only Anurag but many other actors, directors, and producers also previously opened up about the unnecessary demands made by many celebrities while filming a movie. Among these, Nawazuddin Siddiqui also spoke about it in an interview with Hindustan Times. He talked about the big demands of a few actors, who likes to travel with vanity vans. Calling them 'paagal', Nawazuddin said.
“There are many unnecessary demands that actors have, they want everything lavish. I have even heard that some actors have five vanity vans — one for gymming, one for cooking, one for eating, bathing, practising lines, and what not. Yeh paagalpan hai. Koi paagal hi hoga jo paanch vanity van leke chalta hai.”
