He was brutally trolled, and mean comments like, 'unreal' surfaced on the video. Now, Aaliyah's dad, Anurag, and Shane's father-in-law defended his son-in-law in one of the posts. He slammed naysayers who said that Shane cried for attention. Anurag called his son-in-law sensitive and wrote:
"My son-in-law is just the most sensitive human being and the way he loves my daughter is so special. So everyone who thinks it's a trend or he is doing it to go viral can take a hike. I could not have wished For a better son-in-law I am not half as good as a father the way Shane is to Aaliyah."
For those who do not know, the clip showed Aaliyah walking with her bridesmaid squad, which included Khushi Kapoor, Sakshi Shivdasani, Imtiaz Ida Ali (Imtiaz Ali's daughter), Kareema Barry, Muskan Chanana, Manika Malkani, and Pearl Malik. Shane could not control his tears and got teary-eyed before he and Aaliyah gave each other the warmest hug before proceeding with the varmala ritual.
Anurag's replies went viral on Reddit immediately. One of the Reddit user wrote, "I am convinced that these people who have trolled have never been in love. The emotions you experience at your wedding is next level. Just knowing you're promising a forever with the person you love." Another user commented, "Exactly, insensitive imbeciles who'll never know what love is like." A third user also shared, "Who wouldn't cry seeing your wife walk down the aisle. I'd probably have a breakdown."
