On the third day of the test match against Australia, the entire Indian team got all out at a record score of 36 in the second innings. Team India’s poor performance made cricket fans furious and within no time, on Twitter, netizens started blaming captain Kohli for his team’s poor performance. Not just Virat, but his pregnant wife, Anushka was also dragged for the team’s performance. One of the Twitter users wrote, “Remove Kohli from captaincy. Kohli concentrating more on family matters rather than on team India. He has no dedication to team India. ODI series lost, now Test series lowest total in cricketing history. Looks like Kohli is in a hurry for Anushka's pregnancy.” Many others too shared nasty memes and Tweets on Anushka and Virat.

This is not the first time when Anushka is targeted for Virat’s poor performance. On September 24, 2020, Virat Kohli's team, Royal Challengers Bangalore had lost a match to Kings XI Punjab, as he had dropped two catches of KL Rahul that had cost them the game. After which, netizens had started trolling the Indian captain and his wife, Anushka Sharma for RCB's loss. While some had joked about their pregnancy, some had accused Virat of ruining his career by getting married. And, once again, people had showcased the lack of empathy and respect in their hearts.

Owing to Virat Kohli’s poor performance in RCB vs KXIP’s match, commentator and veteran cricketer, Sunil Gavaskar had taken a dig at his lack of practice and had dragged his wife, Anushka Sharma's name in his statement. He had said, "Inhone lockdown me to bas Anushka ki gendon ki practice ki hai. (He has only practised on Anushka's balls during the lockdown)." He was referring to Anushka and Virat playing cricket on their terrace, the footage of which had gone viral during the lockdown. His double-meaning statement had not gone well not only with Anushka, but also with 'Virushka's' fans, as such a derogatory comment wasn't expected from a senior player, according to them. Sunil Gavaskar had faced a lot of backlash on Twitter after his unacceptable comment. (Also Read: Sapna Choudhary Shares More Pictures Of Her Newborn On Hubby, Veer Sahu's First B'Day Post Wedding)
