An old video featuring Anushka Sharma recreating Aishwarya Rai's iconic song, 'Kajra Re' at an award show, surfaced on social media. Soon, netizens started commenting on the same.
Aishwarya Rai is one of the most beautiful actresses of her generation. She made her acting debut in 1997 with Mani Ratnam's Tamil film, Iruvar. Since then, she has worked in one after the other films and also etched a special place in the hearts of her fans with her impeccable dancing skills. Among many others, it was her dance number, Kajra Re, in the 2005 blockbuster film, Bunty Aur Babli, alongside her husband, Abhishek Bachchan and father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan that was simply one of a kind.
Now, a Reddit user shared an old video of Anushka Sharma, in which she was seen grooving to Aishwarya Rai’s iconic dance number, Kajra Re. In the video, Anushka was seen performing the dance at an award show and doing her best while grooving to Aishwarya's hook steps. For her performance, Anushka wore a heavily embellished blouse paired with a pink lehenga, a pair of statement earrings, a maang teeka, and a stack of bangles. Moreover, she completed her look with glam makeup, including blushed cheeks, kohl-rimmed eyes, glossy lipstick and an open hairdo.

As soon as the video was shared online, netizens started reacting to Anushka's recreation of Aishwarya's Kajra Re. While the Reddit user who posted the video, called it ‘iconic’, many others disagreed with the former. One user commented, "I like her and also her films. But she can’t dance.” Meanwhile, another social media user mentioned, "Am I the only one who finds this good? The steps are on point and she looks really pretty."

Shaad Ali's blockbuster hit, Bunty Aur Babli, was produced by Yash Raj Films. It also starred Rani Mukherji. Apart from the stunning acting skills, it was the song, Kajra Re that is still a chartbuster from the film. On May 27, 2024, when Bunty Aur Babli clocked in 19 years, Amitabh Bachchan took to his X handle and reposted a still from Kajra Re, featuring him, Abhishek and Aishwarya. Sharing it, he wrote:
“The song became so popular that it still regenerates attention and love .. and the best moments with the song, Bhaiyu, were when we performed this live on stage (namaste and laughing with tears emojis).”

For the iconic song, Aishwarya served pure fashionista goals as she looked gorgeous as ever in a golden bobby printed skirt teamed with a matching chanderi blouse with a plunging neckline. She kept her hair open and opted for vintage jewels, including a jhoomar and statement earrings. Moreover, she completed her look with glossy lips, kohl-rimmed eyes, smokey eyeshadow and highlighted cheeks.
