In an interview, Anushka Sharma talked about motherhood and shared if her daughter, Vamika Sharma Kohli is more like her!
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli had welcomed a little princess into their lives on January 11, 2021. The star parents have been ensuring their daughter privacy and have successfully managed to keep her away from the limelight and hid her face from their fans. While the star couple drops glimpses of their little love, it is rare that we have seen Anushka talk about motherhood. However, this time, she has bared her heart and talked about her bond with her baby girl, Vamika Sharma Kohli.
It was on February 1, 2021, when Anushka Sharma had surprised everyone by posting the first-ever family picture with their then-newborn daughter on her IG handle. Introducing her daughter to the world, Anushka had announced her name, and had written:
“We have lived together with love, presence and gratitude as a way of life but this little one, Vamika has taken it to a whole new level! Tears, laughter, worry, bliss - emotions that have been experienced in a span of minutes sometimes! Sleep is elusive but our hearts are SO full. Thanking you all for your wishes, prayers and good energy.”

Anushka Sharma graced the cover of Grazia magazine and talked in length about her motherhood journey so far. As most of us are curious to know if Vamika is more like her father, Virat Kohli or mother, Anushka, the actress talked about her baby girl’s personality in the conversation with the magazine. Revealing that Vamika is more like her, Anushka said:
"I find her extremely determined. I feel that if she wants to do something then she's going to do it, and I can tell that it's going to serve some purpose for her in life. It's nice to see that because I think I was like that too. My role is to guide and support her, to be her sounding board without micromanaging or being too controlling. I think an important thing to imbibe in your child is to be loving and compassionate towards everybody."
In the same interview, Anushka Sharma had also shared that the initial months of her pregnancy were ‘awful’ and how it was nice to have her husband, Virat Kohli around, as he was not playing any matches at the time. Anushka had shared that she was grateful to be able to spend a lot of time with her husband, Virat Kohli, during her pregnancy. Talking about the same, she had said:
“One of the things this experience has taught me is to always look at the positives. It allowed Virat and I to spend a lot of time together because he wasn’t playing any matches at the time. Had he been travelling, I wouldn’t have been able to accompany him in my condition. My first trimester was awful, so it was nice to have him by my side, to handhold and be my cheerleader.”
