Over the years, we have seen people trolling cricketers brutally for their poor performance in a match all over the internet. While it's incredibly wrong, it is something that happens with almost every sportsperson on the planet. But what's more disappointing and inhuman is the time, when trollers and people cross the line and start trolling the families of those sportspersons. And, the lady that is again facing all the wrath is actress, Anushka Sharma. The actress is getting blamed by the trollers of her husband and Indian team's captain, Virat Kohli's rare poor performance in his last match.. Scroll down to know it all!
On September 24, 2020, Virat Kohli's team, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the match to Kings XI Punjab, as he dropped two catches of KL Rahul that cost them the game. After which, the hooligans have started trolling the Indian captain and his wife, Anushka Sharma for RCB's loss. While some joked about their pregnancy, some accused Virat of ruining his career by getting married. And, once again, people showcased the lack of empathy and respect in their hearts. However, many people quickly came in support of Anushka, who is pregnant at the moment and is still facing this much undeserving wrath from people on social media. Another sad and sickening part of the story is the fact that Indian skipper, Virat Kohli has already apologised and has taken the full blame of his team's defeat like a true sportsperson. During the post-match presentation, Virat admitted, "I have to stand in front and take the brunt of it, not the best day in office, couple of chances of KL when he was set and that cost us 35-40 runs at a later stage. Maybe if we restricted them to 180, we wouldn't have been under pressure from ball one of the chase. I have to put my hand up and say a couple of important chances went down." Despite such a brave statement, the cricketer still received a lot of hate and disrespect on the internet.
Well, if you think this is the worst thing you've seen today, then you should be aware of the comments made by legendary Indian cricketer, Sunil Gavaskar on Virat during his batting against KXIP. Sunil Gavaskar had taken a dig at Virat's lack of practice and had dragged his star wife, Anushka Sharma's name in his statement. He had said, "Inhone lockdown me to bas Anushka ki gendon ki practice ki hai. (He has only practised on Anushka's balls during the lockdown)." The comment was a direct reference to the couple's viral video in which they could be seen playing cricket on their terrace during the lockdown. The double-meaning statement by such a legend had not gone well with netizens and soon he had faced a massive backlash on Twitter.
