Aparshakti Khurana recently discussed his bond with his brother, Ayushmann Khurrana and also recalled a fight they had when they were young, which led to the strong bond they share now.
Aparshakti Khurana is among the versatile faces of Bollywood. Mostly known for his apt comedic timing in the films, the actor also has an inspiring chemistry with his brother, Ayushmann Khurrana. The bond between the brothers is what you would call an ‘old school Ram-Lakshman relationship’. As both the actors have established their names in the industry, Aparshakti recently recalled how he once fought with Ayushmann, and as a result, he was beaten up.
Aparshaki Khurana, who was last seen in the blockbuster film, Stree 2, recently had a chat with Digital Commentary. In it, he mentioned an incident that happened when he was not even a teenager. The actor said that when he was just 8-9 years old, he had no idea how to respect his elder brother or how to address him. As a result, he wouldn’t call Ayushmann ‘bhaiya’. Aparshakti then recalled how he fought with his brother once, which changed his attitude towards him.
Speaking about the details of the fight, Aparshakti said that he once called Ayushmann some bad words, after which he was beaten up a lot. However, that’s when their father made a rule which later strengthened the bond between the two brothers. In Aparshakti’s words:
“Then one day, when we were playing, we got into a fight and I called him something like ‘saala’ or ‘kameena’ or something and that day I was beaten up a lot. After that, the conclusion was that from this day on, you will call him ‘bhaiya’ and every morning you will touch his feet in the morning and that is the only way you can stay in this house, or you can’t stay in this house.”
When asked about the his relationship with his brother, Aparshakti said that following the fight and the new rule, there was less scope to fight, and thus began their “old school Ram-Lakshman” bond. He thanked their small-town upbringing, due to which, the bond between him and Ayushmann is still intact. He said:
“I think once you start doing this, there is lesser scope to fight or to have a conflict because then you can’t yell at them, and you will not say any bad thing. And if you don’t say anything bad, there is no room for a fight, so it’s a very old school Ram-Lakshman kind of a relationship. We have a very middle class and small-town upbringing and perhaps, that’s why things are still good between us.”
