Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as the 'Rebel Kid', shared a live session on her YouTube channel and revealed all the scenarios she faced after 'India's Got Latent' controversy.
Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as the 'Rebel Kid', finally decided to take her stand and broke the silence after the India's Got Latent (IGL) controversy. After the extreme backslash, The Rebel Kid took to her YouTube channel and shared a detailed live session explaining all kinds of trauma, both emotional and psychological, that she underwent through the phase.
In the first detailed live session after the IGL controversy, Apoorva said that every day when she woke up, there was something new in the news about her. She shared how her friends used to talk to her daily, which boosted her confidence. She also revealed being scared and had sleep paralysis. Remembering the traumatic moment, she mentioned:
“Every single day that I would wake up, something new would be happening. I would have sleep paralysis because I would be scared. Everytime I would wake up there is some new news. My friends would talk to me everyday all the time to say everything will be fine. They are great people and they had faith in me. I could believe that everything be alright. I am so glad I had such good people around me.”
Apoorva shared that as the situation got too bad due to the IGL controversy, she decided to consult a tarot card reader. She also shared that before the controversy had happened, she didn’t believe in all kinds of stuff like tarot card reading, but suddenly, she started believing in all this. She took help from a tarot reader who advised her to go overseas. Sharing details about the same, she said:
“Then as a last resort, I decided to seek help as a logical decision. No, not from my manager or a therapist. I decided to seek help from a tarot card reader. I didn’t believe in all this but science couldn’t explain what was happening to me. I picked some cards and she said someone did black magic on me. The tarot card described certain things, which matched with a person, who I thought could be doing this. She advised me to go oversees and the black magic won’t work. So I went to Paris.”
Due to the extreme outrage, Apoorva had deleted all her posts on Instagram. But on April 8, 2025, she made a comeback. She shared screenshots of comments that included rape and death threats and also included acid attacks.
For the unversed, in February 2025, Samay Raina’s YouTube show, India's Got Latent, featured panellists like social media influencer, Apoorva Mukhija, YouTuber, Ashish Chanchlani, and comedian, Jaspreet Singh. The bonus episode also featured Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps. Both Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija faced severe backlash for their vulgar remarks. Soon the clip of their remarks went viral and finally led to the controversy. Later, Samay deleted all the episodes of his show.
