Legendary music composer, AR Rahman's daughter, Khatija Rahman, announced her engagement with Riyasdeen Shaikh Mohamed.
The famous singer and composer, Abdul Rahman, better known as AR Rahman, is the only Indian who had won two Academy Awards in 2009 for his incredible work in the films, Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours. While on the professional front, AR Rahman's illustrious career needs no introduction. It is his personal life that he has always preferred to keep private. The musician rarely makes public appearances with his family.
According to the latest reports, AR Rahman's daughter, Khatija Rahman, announced her engagement and dropped a picture with Riyasdeen Shaikh Mohamed, through a post on her social media handle. The sudden announcement by the young singer made her entire fanbase thrilled.

On January 3, 2022, AR Rahman's daughter, Khatija Rahman, took to her Instagram handle and informed her massive fanbase about their engagement. The talented singer shared a picture collage featuring her fiance, Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed. In the collage on the right side, Khatija looked gorgeous in a pink and silver outfit, along with a matching mask, a garland, and jewellery. We can see Khatija's fiance's monochrome picture on the left side. However, the singer revealed that she and Riyasdeen got engaged on December 29, 2021. While sharing the priceless picture collage, Khatija penned a note in the caption, and it can be read as:
"With the blessings of the Almighty I'm happy to announce to you all my engagement with Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed @riyasdeenriyan, an aspiring entrepreneur and a wizkid audio engineer. The engagement happened on December 29, my birthday in the presence of close family and loved ones. #KhatijaRahmanEngagementWithRiyasdeen #ThankYou."
A few hours back, Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed reshared the same picture collage on his Instagram handle and penned an almost similar note in the caption. In his note, Riyasdeen revealed that his fiancee is a musician and philanthropist, and shared his happiness after getting engaged with her. However, we stumbled upon some rare pictures from their engagement on social media. Coming back to Riyasdeen's note, it can be read as
"With the blessings of the Almighty I'm happy to announce to you all my engagement with Khatija Rahman, @khatija.rahman musician, producer & philanthropist. The engagement happened on December 29, on her birthday in the presence of close family and loved ones. #khatijarahmanengagementwithriyasdeen."
Khatija Rahman also confirmed the ongoing media reports that her engagement ceremony was an intimate one due to COVID-19 restrictions. Only close family members and relatives were invited to the ceremony. It is also reported that their wedding ceremony will be an intimate one, just like their engagement. For the unversed, Khatija Rahman had made her singing debut at the age of 14, in her father, AR Rahman's father composition, O Maramanishi/Puthiya Manidha, alongside SP. Balasubramanyam in the film, Robo.
