AR Rahman's Lawyer Slams People For Linking His Divorce Due To Bassit, Mohini Dey: 'Kya Hai Yeh...'

AR Rahman's lawyer, Vandana Shah dismissed murmurs of the singer's divorce being linked to his bassit, Mohini Dey, who announced her separation within hours.

AR Rahman and Saira Banu's divorce news after 29 years of their marriage came as a shock. The couple gave out family goals, and Saira Banu always seemed to be a devoted wife, and AR Rahman, a loving husband, but the reality was entirely different. Saira, in her divorce statement from a lawyer, revealed that she had taken the decision out of a lot of pain. Within hours, AR Rahman's bassist, Mohini Dey, also announced separation, which led to people making wild guesses and started linking them together.

AR Rahman and Saira Banu's lawyer, Vandana Shah gave back to people for making these absurd claims

In an interview with the ANI, Vandana Shah talked about AR Rahman and his wife, Saira Banu's divorce proceedings. She claimed that they are not yet divorced but are in the process of it. Vandana further added that it would definitely be an amicable divorce. When questioned about the reason behind AR Rahman's divorce, Vandana denied giving out details. However, she added that they are partying ways due to significant emotional strain in their relationship.

Vandana further added that the estranged couple released a statement in the media so that nobody speculated. Hinting at people's absurd way of connecting AR Rahman's separation news to his bassist, Mohini Dey, Vandana added that it is stupid of people to link them together. 

"Yeh jo dusri unki colleague hai jinka divorce ho raha hai, kya hai yeh. Yeh kaisa rumour bhi kisne soch liya, it is such a load of nonsense. Mai ek legal term use krna chahti hoon I would like to treat it with contempt, jo logo aise mudde utha rahe hai."

Talking about AR Rahman and Saira Banu's relationship and people's shock to the news, Vandana said that no one goes into a marriage expecting a divorce. She was quoted as saying:

"For 29 years, they have led a very dignified life and they're not changing that just because things may not work out as a fairytale ending as everyone may expect or as they may have expected. No one goes into a marriage expecting a divorce."

AR Rahman left everyone shocked by creating a hashtag for his divorce 

We all will agree that divorce is a start to a new beginning, but when there are adult children involved, things become a bit uncomfortable. On top of it, AR Rahman while announcing his separation created a hashtag 'ARSairaBreakup' that left everyone in shock.

In a media statement to India Today, Saira Banu's lawyer discussed their marriage. The lawyer revealed that Saira made the difficult decision to part ways with AR Rahman. Saira Banu's lawyer further added that while they are still in love, the tensions and difficulties they have gone through have created a huge gap, which is hard to bridge. The statement can be read as:

"After many years of marriage, Mrs. Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband Mr. A R. Rahman. This decision comes after significant emotional strain in their relationship. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time."
