Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi completed 29 years of marital bliss on June 30, 2021. In an interview, Archana revealed why Parmeet wanted to keep their marriage a secret.
Archana Puran Singh had won everyone’s heart with her role of Miss Braganza in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. But it was the handsome actor, Parmeet Sethi, who was bowled over by this beautiful actress. It has been three decades since Archana and Parmeet had begun their forever journey and the charm of their relationship is still the same. The lovebirds are living a happy life with their two sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan.
For the unversed, Archana had met Parmeet for the first time at a party and at that point of time, she hadn't wanted a man in her life because of a failed marriage. But as destiny had it, Archana couldn’t help but fall in love with the charmer, Parmeet. Archana had eloped from her house to marry Parmeet and the duo had kept their marriage under wraps for four years.

In an interview with Times Now, Archa Puran Singh revealed why she hid her marriage with Parmeet for four years and said, “At that time, in our industry, there was a common perception that if a girl gets married her work dwindles down. In the industry, they used to say that married heroines do not get much work. There is that little chauvinism in the industry. Women and men have different guidelines.”
Archana further shared how the industry works on a pre-conceived notion that married actresses don’t care about their work commitments. Talking about the same, she shared, “The industry thinks that shadi ho gayi hai, bacha ho jaega (she's married and she'll have children) and then she might leave her commitment halfway through or not devote her time and commitment to our film. Parmeet and I said that marriage was for us, we wanted to do it personally and not keep it a public affair. We both wanted to get married. Parmeet didn't want marriage to affect my career. We both decided to keep it a secret.”

In August 2020, Archana and Parmeet had reminisced the memories of their wedding on The Kapil Sharma Show. Archana had recalled that to marry Parmeet, she had eloped from her house. Revealing how Archana had forced him to marry her, Parmeet had said, “She created such a situation that I had no other option left." Tongue-in-cheek to which, his better-half, Archana had retorted, "He’s lying, he proposed to me. But we actually eloped to get married."
When the lockdown had begun in March 2020, Archana Puran Singh had delighted her fans with throwback pictures with Parmeet Sethi. Exuding 'old is gold' vibes, Archana had captioned her post as "Day 2 of #lockdown cleaned out the attic and discovered old (is gold) London street shopping pictures of @iamparmeetsethi and #me, young and madly in love #oldmemories #londondiaries #travelphotography #streetshopping #ilovelondon.”
