Rapper, Raftaar talked about Arijit Singh's 'crazy earnings' and shared that the 'King of Music' got a duplex in Mumbai for performing at a wedding.
Arijit Singh is one of the much-loved singers of showbiz, who not only takes the audience out of the world with his soulful voice but also melts everyone over and over again with his grounded nature. Recently, rappers, Ikka Singh and Raftaar sat for an interview and revealed how for 1-1.5 hours of performance, the singer got a duplex in Mumbai, but despite his massive wealth, the singer keeps it low-key.
While being on the Honestly Saying Podcast, Raftaar talked about Arijit Singh and revealed that the amount of money the singer makes is in a word, 'crazy' and so is the kind of a person he is. The rapper added that the people in the music industry look rich, including them as well, but it's nothing that can even be compared to Arijit Singh. He further compared Arijit to the international rapper, Eminem, who is also considered one of the greatest rappers of all time but continues to keep his personal life low-key. In Raftaar's words:
"The amount of money he makes is crazy and the person he is. People in the music industry think of themselves as rich, they even look rich, this includes us, but Arijit can have 100 of us for lunch.”
Going further in the interview, Raftaar revealed that Arijit Singh once attended a show, and as his car took time to arrive, he took an auto and left for home, which proves the singer's humility. Raftaar further remarked that Arijit doesn't like doing wedding performances, but someone insisted him to do the same, and for it, he got a duplex in Mumbai. For the unversed, in Mumbai, a duplex costs crores. Raftaar can be quoted as saying:
"He did a show once, he went out, his car was taking time to come. He sat in the auto in front of him and left for home. I will share another instance, he doesn’t like doing wedding performances, somebody insisted that he performs, in return, he took a duplex house in Mumbai. One should check how much a duplex house costs in Mumbai. He got that for 1-1.5 hour performance.”
Ikka talked about AR Rahman and stated that the music master takes Rs. 3 crore for a live performance. He also talked about Arijit's fee and mentioned that the singer, despite earning this much, makes no noise about the same. Ikka remarked:
"Rahman sir takes Rs 3 crores to do a live show. Just check how much Arijit sir takes. It’s about timing also, but he isn’t making noise about it—and that’s the difference.”
Arijit Singh is known as the 'King of Playback Singing', and rightfully so as he conquers the world of music. Talking about his fee, he reportedly charges Rs. 5 crore for performing at weddings, while his charges per song are somewhat around Rs. 18-20 lakhs. As per a Newsroom Post, the singer's net worth is around Rs. 120 crores. Well, apart from singing Hindi songs, Arijit has a grasp over singing songs in multiple languages such as Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu.
According to the reports, Arijit was paid a whopping Rs. 5 crore for his performance at Anant Ambani's pre-wedding soiree. He also does several concerts, and collaborated with several big brands, and for each of the ads he is reported to be paid in crores. He owns some luxury cars along with a home in Mumbai of Rs. 8 crore. His annual salary is said to be around Rs. 15 crore.
