In an interview with Mid-Day, talking about Koffee with Karan experience alongside Janhvi, Arjun said, “When Karan Johar told me that this was the combination, I was pleasantly surprised, because I am the buffoon and prankster on Koffee with Karan. I thought that I'll get to spend some time with Janhvi. Honestly, I haven't been able to spend time with her. In February (when Sridevi passed away) I was shooting for Namaste England”.
Opening up further, the Namaste England actor revealed that he now know Janhvi better, and the talk show was a great platform for him to spend some time with his sister, “I literally entered into their lives as the whirlwind of chaos. I did my bit and whatever I could. My sister allowed to welcome them as our family, or at least put them at ease at that moment, and simplify things as much as we could by being supportive. And, then I had to disappear and go work. She had Dhadak releasing. When the trailer came out, I was not in town, and when the film was releasing, I came back a day before”
He further added, “Now I was away for India's Most Wanted (next film) for a month-and-a-half in Nepal. So, I have also kind of been away from her and Khushi Kapoor. I've met them in between. We've had dinners at home and obviously, they spend a lot more time with Anshula Kapoor, and so with my dad (Boney Kapoor). Now that I look back, I haven't spent any time with them. I felt it was a nice way of me getting to know her”. (You May Like: Hema Malini Cuts Her Birthday Cake With Grandchildren Radhya Takhtani And Darien Vohra, Video Inside)
He further spoke reverently of Janhvi and was all-praises for the Dhadak actress, “I did get to know her a lot better, off camera also. She's a very sorted girl. She's sensible and funny, and also has quite a few hidden talents that came around in the show; just like how I am, a hidden gem (laughs). I think this was meant to be that we would discover each other. What Karan does is, he allows you to be in a comfortable environment and that kind of let's go your inhibitions that maybe I and she would have taken a couple of more dinners and lunches and maybe a holiday or two. Now, suddenly after spending two hours, I feel like I've known her all my life. I can only be thankful to Karan for choosing this combination”.
Earlier, sharing the following picture from the shoot of KwK, Arjun wrote on social media, “Just what I needed in the middle of my chaos. A reminder of what matters most to me now. Family. Swipe to notice @janhvikapoor is in shock and awe about the fact that the Koffee King agreed to share the Kouch with her. Thank you @karanjohar for having us and you know me, I’ll be back!!!”
Talking about their appearance on the show and their bonding, a source earlier revealed to BollywoodLife, “This is Janhvi's debut on the show and who better to partner with her than Arjun. They are quite attached to each other and he is literally a pillar of strength for her. It will be fun to see them spilling each other's secrets”. And also added, “He shares a special bond with Janhvi. Like Alia, she too is a Dharma protege and he is extremely protective about her. So far, we have not seen much of siblings on the show and this will be a change”. (Suggested Read: Saif Ali Khan Gave An Epic Reply When Asked Secret Behind Successful Marriage With Kareena Kapoor)
Recently, talking to a media portal about his changing relationship with Janhvi and Khushi, which at one point was non-existent, Arjun retorted, “The good part is that we have our independent lives, but whenever need be, we are there for each other. That’s how it should be. We don’t have to suddenly become a happy pretentious khandaan, which is why I took some time. Now, I’m talking about it as there’s a certain ease and I’ve been able to figure things out. Kabhi kabhi in all the bhaag-daud, you don’t realise how important it is to connect, sit down and have a meal with your loved ones. Somewhere, all of us have been able to get that perspective”.
Well, we are always happy to hear about the amazing camaraderie of this awesome sibling duo! Can’t wait to see them on Koffee with Karan.
