Bollywood actor, Arjun Kapoor is the son of film producer, Boney Kapoor and his first wife, late Mona Shourie. The two had tied the knot in 1983, and have two children together, Anshula Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor. However, in 1996, Boney had married the late actress, Sridevi, souring the relations with his first wife, Mona. The couple has two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.
Mona Shourie had died in 2012, leaving a void in her children’s lives. First, their parent's separation and then their mother's death had left Arjun Kapoor and his younger sister, Anshula, devastated. Despite being the younger one, Anshula, who had been through 'far worse' than Arjun, had still managed to become the backbone of their family.

Earlier, Arjun Kapoor never shared a cordial bond with his father, Boney Kapoor. However, after the death of Sridevi, Arjun had stepped up as a pillar of strength to help Boney and his daughters, Janhvi and Khushi. On his appearance on the show, Koffee With Karan, in 2012, Arjun Kapoor had talked about his family’s changing dynamics. The actor had said, “Of course, the dynamics are complicated. We'll never be normal, like they show in the movies. But I am respectful towards her. She is my father's wife. And he is happy with her so that's important and we'll deal with it. You have to deal with it as it comes.”
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar India, Arjun and Anshula had talked about their evolving relationship with their half-siblings. Arjun had revealed that Janhvi and Khushi were the reason that he did not resent his father. He had said, “Through meeting Janhvi and Khushi, and breaking that barrier, I have now been able to build a more authentic relationship with him. We have all confronted many of our demons. It has to do with letting go, which is very cathartic...it is strangely therapeutic to just sit around and talk rubbish, and realise that you were holding onto things, unknowingly or knowingly, because you were supposed to. But I love my father more because of both of them. It is complex. I have been able to see my father in a different light. If I didn’t share this equation with Janhvi and Khushi, I would have resented many things and never felt the need to reconnect with him at this level.”
Arjun was last seen in the film, Bhoot Police, starring Saif Ali Khan, Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez.
