An arrest warrant has been issued against Ekta Kapoor and her mother, Shobha Kapoor for showing objectionable content in the web series, 'XXX'.
Indian Soap Queen, Ekta Kapoor is one of the most successful producers and directors in the content world. Born to Shobha Kapoor and actor Jeetendra, Ekta is the name behind launching many successful careers under her banner Balaji Telefilms. The 1995 sitcom, Hum Paanch was the first successful show produced by Ekta.
Ekta, who is a firm believer in astrology, chose the letter K to be her lucky alphabet and launched the show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The serial broke all the records and attained the highest TRP in 2000. After the success of shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelli, Koi Apna Sa, Kasauti Zindagii Kay and many more, Ekta spread her wings to movies and web series.

Over the past few years, Ekta created a lot of web series under her banner ALT Balaji, an OTT platform co-owned by her mother, Shobha Kapoor. However, as per the latest reports, Ekta and Shobha are in legal trouble as an arrest warrant has been issued against them for the objectionable content in their web series, XXX.
The erotic-comedy drama, which focuses on sexual relationships was first aired in 2018 and the second season premiered in 2020. The complaint was filed by an ex-serviceman, Shambhu Kumar, a resident of Begusarai. In his complaint, Shambhu accused the makers, Ekta and Shobha of hurting the sentiments of the soldier’s family by portraying their wives in an inappropriate manner.

As per a report in Bollywood Life, Shambhu Kumar stated that the series, XXX showed many scenes where soldiers' wives were shown in an objectionable way. In a statement to the media, Shambhu Kumar’s advocate stated:
“The court had issued summons to them (Kapoors) and asked them to appear before it in connection with the matter. They (Kapoors), however, informed the court that certain scenes in the series were removed after the objection. But they did not appear before the court following which the warrant was issued against them.”
For the unversed, the show, XXX invited a lot of criticism for its bold content.
