Arshad Warsi’s podcast with Samdish Bhatia

The actor appeared on a podcast with Samdish Bhatia, in August this year. Where amid heartfelt conversations, Arshad was asked to name the last bad film that he saw. Thinking for about a minute, the actor said that Kalki 2898 AD, was a film that did not match his expectations, and while he was in awe of Amitabh Bachchan’s performance in the film, Prabhas’ performance left him disappointed. The actor said:

“Maine Kalki dekhi jo mujhko nahi acchi lagi. Amit ji was unbelievable, I can’t understand that man yaar. I cannot understand. Jitna power unmey hai, thoda sa vo mil jaye na, toh life ban jaye, he is unreal. Prabhas I am really sad but…why was he….he was like a joker. Why?  I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata hai.”

Arshad Warsi’s reply to the backlash at the IIFA Awards

Arshad responded to the rapidly rising controversy, taking the red carpet at the IIFA Awards 2024, the actor shared that he was talking about the character and not the actor. Arshad called Prabhas a brilliant actor, which Prabhas has proved on multiple occasions over the years and we all know it. He concluded by saying that people like to make something out of nothing. The actor as quoted by ANI news agency said:

"Everybody has their own point of view and people like to interpret noise. I spoke about the character, not the person. He (Prabhas) is a brilliant actor and he has proved himself again and again, and we know about it. And, when we give a bad character to a good actor, it's heartbreaking for the audience."
