In a recent interview, Aruna Irani went candid, saying the first wife shouldn't blame the other women for breaking their homes while citing Hema Malini's example.
Aruna Irani has appeared in more than 500 movies in the Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, and Gujarati film industries. She currently holds the record for the most nominated actor in Filmfare Awards for the Best Supporting Actress category. She recently sat for an interview discussing society's double standards about extramarital relationships, among many topics, while mentioning actress Hema Malini.
Aruna Irani recently divulged a lot of personal information in an ANI podcast with Smita Prakash. According to Aruna, first wives frequently hold the women responsible with whom their husbands have affairs. However, husbands are the ones who make the vows of loyalty, and they ought to be the ones who must be considered accountable when they break those vows. She further pointed out that even Hema Malini did not marry Dharmendra to break any family. She said:
“You see, these wives, they always blame the ‘other woman’. But think! See, I am not responsible to keep you happy. Your husband is responsible. Hold him (accountable) first. Ask him, ‘Why did you do this?’ Tell them no? I did not have an affair with the intention to break a home. Like Hema Malini, if she married Dharmendra, she didn’t want to break any family. Marriage has no security, only love has security. It’s just a paper so you can boldly say that yes, he is my husband, she is my wife. Otherwise, it has no value. Where love ends, marriage ends.”

She believes it's tough to marry a man who is already married. She never wanted to have a child reason being she won't be able to call her husband even if something happened to her child at midnight. She said:
“See it is not easy for a person to get married to a married man. For instance, if something happens to my child at midnight, I can't call my husband. That's why I never wanted a child. I knew I would never give that sorrow to my child.”
Aruna Irani confessed that she liked the iconic actor, Mehmood Ali, despite knowing he was married. However, since they couldn't marry, their relationship didn't progress too far. Aruna Irani then married filmmaker, Kuku Kohli in 1990 at the age of 40. The couple first met at a film set they were both working on and fell in love. She once revealed that she was unaware of the fact that Kuku was already married and had kids when she met him for the first time.
