Aryan Khan's USC Film School Professors Reveal Why He Took No Help From SRK For His Upcoming Series

In an interview, Aryan Khan's University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts' professors opened up certain unknown anecdotes about his professional career.

Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan is all set to show his screenwriting and directing skills with his web series, Stardom. As per a recent report, Aryan's directorial series will portray the story of a young Delhi boy who has big dreams to achieve in the industry, thereby earning 'Stardom'. This will somehow remind the viewers about the Badshaah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan's journey in the industry. Although the series wouldn't be a biopic, it is quite inspiring for the entire nation to witness how a doting son will portray his daddy's journey. Another report claimed Stardom would feature Bobby Deol and Ranbir Kapoor would make a cameo.

Aryan Khan's professor from USC School of Cinematic Arts reveals he is working with 2-3 people from there in his upcoming web-series

Talking about his educational background, Aryan Khan is a student at the University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts, and graduated from there. And now as his Dean, Elizabeth Daley and Professor and Chair of the Division of Cinema and Media Studies, Dr Priya Jaikumar sat for a candid conversation with the Indian Express about the celebrity kid, they revealed certain unknown anecdotes from his upcoming web-series, Stardom. When they were asked how Aryan was as a student, Priya revealed that they didn't have any one-on-one interaction with him. However, they had talked to his daddy, Shah Rukh Khan. Further, talking about his upcoming web-series, Stardom, Priya said:

"Oddly, we never met him when he was there because COVID was what took one and a half years… There is one class called ‘Intro to Cinema’, everyone has to take it. But I know of my graduate students who were TAs for that class because it is literally 350 students, two sections, and they worked with Aryan. So, we were actually talking to his dad (Shah Rukh) as well. Aryan has a streaming show coming out and what he mentioned was that he was very influenced by his time at USC and in Cinematic Arts. So, he’s working with at least 2-3 other people from there."

For the unversed, if reports are to be believed, Aryan also reportedly turned down a huge budget of Rs. 120 crores from OTT giants. This was because he had no intention of selling his unfinished product while the OTT giants were up to sign the series for its follow-up seasons, even though season one is still not ready. In the same conversation, Elizabeth shared that Aryan was also offered good support from his daddy, SRK. However, the celebrity kid wanted to do things on his own, so he brought his USC friends into the web series' team. Elizabeth added:

"His dad offered him some professional crew but Aryan said, ‘No, no, I am bringing my USC friends!’ He graduated the year we had commencement in the Colosseum; that was the end of the COVID because we couldn’t be indoors."

In the end, Priya mentioned that, unfortunately, they couldn't have any one-to-one interaction with Aryan and shared, "Ya, so Aryan was there. He graduated during COVID… Unfortunately, one on one interactions we didn’t have with him." To this, Aryan's dean further added that although he is a celebrity kid, but they also wanted a normal life for him. Thus, they gave no special treatment to him. She concluded by saying, "But we wanted to let him also have a normal life also." Well, this was also a hint towards Aryan's alleged involvement in the intoxicant-related case, from which he has already got a clean chit.

Shah Rukh Khan talked about personal struggles he and his family have faced in the last few years, hinting at Aryan’s arrest

For the unversed, in 2021, SRK’s son, Aryan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau and was allegedly booked for the consumption of drugs. After 26 days and multiple bail rejections, Aryan was granted bail by the Bombay High Court due to a lack of evidence. When SRK was named the Indian of the Year 2023, the handsome actor expressed his gratitude for winning the same. And during his speech, he also addressed his and his family's struggles in the past few years. He hinted at Aryan's arrest and calling it bothersome and unpleasant, SRK shared:

“At a personal level, a little bit of bothersome and unpleasant things also happened to say the least which made me learn a lesson that be quiet, be very quiet and work hard with dignity. When you think everything is good, and still know it in your heart when everything is good, suddenly out of nowhere, whoom, life may come and hit you.”
