Asha Bhosle will soon be making an appearance on the show, 'Naam Reh Jaayega' and a few snippets from the episode made their way on the internet, in which she talked about Lata Mangeshkar's demise.
One of the greatest singers in the rich history of the Indian music industry, the late Lata Mangeshkar needs no introduction. From recording songs in 36 different Indian languages to being bestowed with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1989, Lata Mangeshkar was also the first Indian to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Unfortunately, it was on February 6, 2022, when she had passed away due to multiple organ failure, and it was the day of national mourning.
After Lata Mangeshkar's demise on February 6, 2022, the iconic singer was cremated with full state honour at Mumbai's famous Shivaji Park. Many renowned celebrities, politicians, industrialists, and well-known people had gathered to bid their last goodbye to the singing legend, who was more like a revolution in the Indian music industry.

According to reports, veteran singer, Asha Bhosle will be seen in the next episode of the singing reality show, Naam Reh Jaayega. During her appearance on the show, Asha Bhosle opened up about the impact of her sister and iconic singer, Lata Mangeshkar's demise on her life. Reflecting on the same, Asha shared that even to this very day, she cannot believe the fact that her sister is no longer with her. While heaping praises on her, Asha recalled the time when Lata Mangeshkar used to take care of their entire family as she used to earn Rs. 80. Recalling the good old days, Asha Bhosle said:
"Didi used to earn 80/- and we used to run our household in that money. We were 5 people, and we used to have many relatives who would visit us. Didi never said no to anyone, she used to believe in sharing. There were times we used to buy Kurmura (Puffed Rice) for 2 Annas and used to eat that with tea and sleep. We had no complaints, they were simply happy times. can't believe she is gone. I still think I will get a call anytime saying, 'Asha, kashi aahes tu?'."
During her appearance on the show, Naam Reh Jaayega, Asha Bhosle also shared a memorable incident that had happened during their teenage years. The veteran singer shared how Lata Mangeshkar had once drunk the water with which she had washed their parents' feet. While heaping praises on the respect she had in her heart for their parents, Asha Bhosle admitted that all the teaching and lessons from Lata Mangeshkar had helped them in their respective careers. She said:
"Lata di once read that if you wash your parent's feet and drink that water, you become very successful. So she asked me to get water, she got the plate, and washed their feet and asked us all to drink it like CharanAmrut. She used to believe that drinking that, will make us successful and I think it worked for us."

A few months back, while speaking at the first Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award ceremony that was held in April 2022 in Mumbai, Asha Bhosle had recalled a beautiful memory of her late sister, Lata Mangeshkar. The doting sister had revealed that both she and Lata Mangeshkar were invited to a wedding and were asked to sing for them. But Asha wasn't interested in singing at a wedding. Thus, without thinking twice, her elder sister, Lata Mangeshkar had immediately told the representative that they would not sing at a wedding even if they offered them ten crore dollars. With immense pride, Asha had said:
"Someone invited us for a wedding. They had tickets worth million dollars or pounds. They said they wanted Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar. Didi asked me 'will you sing at a wedding?' I said I won't and she then told the rep, 'We will not sing even if you offer 10 crore dollars, because we do not sing at weddings.' That person was very disappointed."
For the unversed, after the demise of Lata Mangeshkar, the Mangeshkar family had announced an award after her name, The Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Puraskar, in order to honour her legacy.
