Popular television actress, Asha Negi opened up about the casting couch in her recent interview and recalled how she dealt with it when a coordinator tried to brainwash her.
Asha Negi is among the biggest actresses in the television industry. She is best known for her playing 'Purvi Deshmukh Kirloskar' in work in the show, Pavitra Rishta. She made her acting debut in the television industry back in 2010 with Star Plus' show, Sapnon Se Bhare Naina. However, it was her negative role in Bade Ache Lagte Hain, that brought her immense limelight and praise from the critics.
Some of Asha Negi's renowned television shows include Hitler Didi, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Qubool Hai, Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, Jamai Raja, Code Rode, Kumkum Bhagya, and many more. Recently, in an interview with Hauterrfly, Asha Negi opened up about casting couch and shared her own experience with it.
The stunning actress, Asha Negi confirmed that she also faced it when she was in her early 20s and wanted to get into the television industry. Asha Negi revealed that she met a coordinator when she was trying to get a break into the TV industry. Opening about their meeting, Asha revealed that they talked about the television industry. She said:
"Back then, there were coordinators. This was some coordinator during that time, some random guy. I ended up meeting. I'm glad that we met and he started talking about television mein ye woh, and I was in my early 20s."
Further, in the same interview, Asha Negi admitted that when they started talking about the television industry, the coordinator told her about the practice of casting couch in the TV industry. The coordinator tried his best to brainwash Asha, who wanted to be a part of the television industry. The gorgeous diva revealed that the coordinator even told her that all the big stars of the television industry have gone through the practice of casting couch. Recalling his words, Asha Negi said:
"He (coordinator) was almost trying to brainwash me that this is what happens and this is how you will grow. He told me, jitne bhi bade TV actors hai, all have done it."
In the same interview, Asha Negi clearly stated that the coordinator tried his best to manipulate her and convince her to compromise. The actress sensed his intentions and decided to leave her dream of becoming an actress in the television industry. However, she further added that when she talked to one of her close friends about her meeting with the coordinator, her friend shrugged it off as a normal incident. After this, she got her confidence back and decided to deal with it by not being intimidated by it. She said:
"I told him, 'If this happens, then I'm not interested'... My friend just said, 'All this happens; it's normal.' He wasn't shocked at all."
