Asha Negi opened up about the difficult after-effect of her breakup with Rithvik Dhanjani, and shared that she still gets abused. Asha also revealed her current relationship status.
Asha Negi and Rithvik Dhanjani once used to be the much-loved couple in the television industry. The duo first time met on their daily soap, Pavitra Rishta. Their on-screen chemistry sent everyone into a collective meltdown, and their fans shipped them as a real-life couple as well. Asha and Rithvik started dating back in 2013, and in 2020, they called it quits, leaving their million fans heartbroken. And, in a recent interview, Asha shared the after-effects of coming out of a relationship that was long-term and also getting hate from fans even after years of her split with Rithvik.
Talking to Hauterrfly, Asha Negi revealed that two actors who work together on television, end up dating one other in real life. The actress revealed that the way fans end up loving two actors' chemistry and ship them somewhat leads these two people to start dating in real life as well. In the same interview, Asha was asked how she dealt with her breakup with Rithvik, and she stated that it was difficult and a lot of grief followed the split since the families were involved. Asha further added that she and Rithvik still get gaalis from their fans for breaking up with one another. In Asha's words:
"There is a lot of grief, of course. And then, you have to handle everything because families are involved and if you are an actor, then there are so many people, fan clubs… I still get so many gaalis and so does he."
Going further in the interview, Asha Negi revealed that she has stayed single for a while now, and will definitely declare if she ever gets into a relationship. The actress stated that she used to think of herself as someone who can't be single, and she has always been in relationships since class 11-12.
Asha said that she is someone who can't be alone, but it's liberating. Asha added that at first, it was a bit tough to be single, but eventually, she understood how the growth becomes more prominent when someone is not involved with anyone, as the focus stays on one's self. In Asha's words:
"Before this, I was always in a relationship, ever since Class 11-12. I initially thought that I am not one of those who can be single, I will end up finding somebody. I have always dated somebody and I am not the person who can be alone. But it is so liberating. Initially, of course, it was difficult but your growth becomes 2x when you are single because you are focused on yourself."
While Asha Negi and Rithvik Dhanjani's breakup came as a shock to their fans, the duo always shared a cordial bond. From wishing each other on birthdays, to supporting each other, the ex-couple proved that a relationship can be broken, but not the friendship that was the base of that bond. Well, Rithvik and Asha revealed that they have been on talking terms, and there's no bitterness between them.
In an interview with The Indian Express, Asha Negi revealed that when she broke up with Rithvik, people tried to pull her down, by blaming her that she was way too much ambitious. The actress shared how she had to listen to that just because she did a film, thus she had broken up with Rithvik. She concluded by stating that whatever happened was between her and Rithvik, and there's a lot of love and respect between them, thus none should bother.
