Ashneer Grover and Madhuri Jain Grover were reportedly denied permission to travel to the UK by Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing.
Ever since the business reality show, Shark Tank was aired on television, famous business personalities have grabbed a lot of attention. One of them is BharatPe co-founder, Ashneer Grover. It was back in May 2023 when an FIR was lodged against Ashneer and his family members. Later, in November 2023, Ashneer and his wife, Madhuri Jain were stopped from travelling to New York due to the LOC (Look-out Circular), which was issued to them by the Economic Offence Wing. Cut to now, Ashneer and Madhuri were denied permission by the Delhi Police to travel to the UK.
For those who chipped in late, Ashneer Grover and Madhuri Jain were invited to the London School of Economics as guest lecturers. And for the same, they have asked for permission from the investigation officer of the Delhi police's EOW to let them travel to the UK from March 9-15, 2024. As per a recent report by the Indian Express, in February 2024, Ashneer Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain have submitted a representation to the investigation officer of Delhi Police's EOW. As per a source, the couple's request to let them head to the UK has been denied by the Delhi Police's EOW. The source stated:
"After reviewing their representation, the investigation officer denied the permission."

In a short interaction with Indian Express, Ashneer Grover stated that the correspondence between him and the Economic Offence Wing is now confidential. The businessman also stated that he would continue to cooperate with the authorities in this 'open-shut case' and keep winning in the court. Ashneer also added that he hasn't received any confidential correspondence from EOW regarding his travel permission as of now. Ashneer mentioned:
"Correspondence between me and EOW is confidential and as per court’s directives… I will continue to cooperate with police in this open-and-shut case and keep winning in Court. I’ve not got any correspondence regarding the travel permission as yet from EOW.”
As per a preliminary report of an investigation by the EOW, Ashneer and Madhuri were accused of taking money from the fintech unicorn by stating that they would help in the hiring process. However, despite that, they allegedly misused the money and used it for themselves. However, the investigation officer issued them a LOC, and to squash the same, they also approached the Delhi High Court, but the court denied their request.
