Amid the controversy between Rupali Ganguly, of 'Anupamaa' fame, and her stepdaughter, Esha, the actress' husband shared a post about his first love.
Rupali Ganguly made her Television debut with, Sukanya in 2000 but gained prominence with the 2004 sitcom, Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai. However, the actress took a sabbatical in 2013 that lasted for seven years before she decided to make a comeback with Starplus' Anupamaa. According to the Times of India, Rupali became the highest-paid TV actress in 2023.
Rupali Ganguly married businessman Ashwin K Verma in 2013, after dating for quite some time. The businessman was previously married twice and has two daughters. His youngest daughter, Esha currently resides in New Jersey and recently made headlines for accusing the actress of separating her from her father.
Ashwin came forward to defend his now-wife, Rupali. However, amid all the claims Ashwin shared a post on his Instagram story, that spoke about the first love. Surprisingly, it turns out it is neither Rupali nor his ex-wife.
The post, was neither dedicated to the actress nor his ex-wife. Instead, the post was dedicated to his mother. In the posted reel, which featured Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves, he lauded mothers for being their children's first everything. From their first friend to their first home. The reel quoted:
"The best woman in the world, my life journey started with her. My first room (was) my mom’s womb. My first restaurant my mom’s breast, my first toilet my mom’s lap. My first school my mom’s kitchen. My first teacher my mom. My first doctor my mom. My first thermometer my mom’s finger. My first friend was my mom. My first dresser (was) my mom. My first vehicle my mom’s back. God bless all mothers if you love your mother, kindly share this video."

Even though Ashwin shared the post without any caption, it is speculated that it is dedicated to his mother. The post, which was shared hours after he defended Ganguly against his daughter Esha's claims of breaking their family, has attracted a lot of attention. Esha made headlines when she claimed that Rupali had an affair with her father for 12 years while he was married.
The businessman's daughter called the actress psychotic and controlling. She even accused Rupali of yelling death threats at her and her mother whenever they tried to call her father. Following these claims, Ashwin came to Rupali's support and shared on X:
"I understand that my younger daughter still holds a lot of hurt about the dissolution of her parent’s relationship as divorce is a difficult experience that can greatly affect and harm the children of that marriage."
