Rupali Ganguly's husband, Ashwin Mehra, has responded to his daughter, Esha Verma's claims about the actress. Read the full story for more details.
Online debates about Rupali Ganguly's personal and professional lives have become very popular. Her co-stars in Anupamaa accused her of causing a lot of commotion on the sets. Now, her husband, Ashwin K. Mehra's daughter, also accused her of having an affair with her father outside of marriage. According to Ashwin's younger daughter, Esha Mehra, Rupali Ganguly is 'psychotic'.
For those who don't know, Rupali Ganguly's husband, Ashwin K Mehra, married thrice. He was earlier married to Sapna Verma and had two daughters. Then he married Priyanka Mehra, and Esha is Priyanka and Ashwin's daughter. Now, a post about Ashwin's daughter, Esha Verma, has gone viral, wherein she accused Rupali of having an affair with Ashwin while he was still married to Esha's mother, Priyanka. After the negative comments made on 'Anupamaa', Ashwin Mehra came forward and stood up for his ex-wife, Rupali Ganguly.
An old social media post by a user claiming to be Ashwin K. Mehra's daughter, Esha Mehra, has caused a stir on the internet. Using the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput as an example, Esha said in her message that Rupali, who is married to Ashwin, had caused a wedge between her and her father. She even compared the actress to Rhea Chakraborty. Esha Mehra revealed the truth about Rupali's marriage to her father, Ashwin K Mehra. She accused her of having an extra-marital affair with her father when she was just three years old. Esha even added that Rupali had separated her from her father, Ashwin, and didn't let him talk to them. She wrote:
"This is absolutely pathetic. Does anyone know the real story of Rupali Ganguly? She has had an affair with Ashwin K Mehra for twelve years while he was in his second marriage. Ashwin has two daughters from his previous marriages. She is nothing but a cruel-hearted woman who has done nothing but tried to separate me and my sister, his own daughters from their father. He used to live in California and then New Jersey for around 13-14 years before moving to Mumbai."
But today, November 4, 2024, at 3:20 a.m., Ashwin Mehra has finally spoken up about the issue, taking to X to defend his wife and respond to the public accusations made by Esha. In a moving statement, Ashwin explains his position by highlighting the intricacies of family bonds and stressing that the accusations are motivated more by hurt than by truth. "Divorce is a difficult experience that can greatly affect and harm the children of that marriage," he said. In his writing, Ashwin candidly acknowledges the effects of his split from Esha's mother.
Ashwin wrote in his X handle that he and Rupali have always been transparent about caring for his two daughters from past relationships. Recognising the anguish his younger daughter is experiencing due to the divorce, he clarified that there are a number of reasons why marriages fail and that he had personal difficulties with his second wife. He conveyed his want for the best for his family and his displeasure with the negative portrayal in the media. In his words:
"I do have two daughters from previous relationships, something Rupali and I have always been open about that I care a great deal about. I understand that my younger daughter still holds a lot of hurt about the dissolution of her parent's relationship, as divorce is a difficult experience that can greatly affect and harm the children of that marriage. But marriages end for many reasons, and my relationship with my second wife had multiple challenges that led to our separation—challenges that were between she and I and that had nothing to do with any other person. I only want the best for my children and my wife and it saddens me to see anyone being pulled into cycles of negativity by the media."
Although he adamantly denies that Rupali played any part in the disputes in his last marriage, his remarks demonstrate a sincere knowledge of the emotional toll that family separations impose on children. Ashwin says he is saddened to see people entangled in what he refers to as a 'cycle of negativity' fuelled by internet rumours. Although he acknowledges his daughter's suffering, he emphasises his dedication to his children and his present marriage.
