TKSS' Atul Parchure Reveals How His Initial Cancer Treatment Was Wrong And It Worsened The Condition

In a recent interview, Atul Parchure opened up about his cancer diagnosis and how his condition worsened when he got the wrong treatment.

Atul Parchure is a renowned actor in the Indian film and television industry. He was seen in various comedy roles in many Marathi and Bollywood films. Not only that, Atul is loved for his stint in popular TV shows, including R. K. Laxman Ki Duniya, Bhago Mohan Pyare, Jago Mohan Pyaare, Comedy Nights with Kapil, and others. However, the actor was also once diagnosed with the deadliest disease, cancer. Now, he opened up about his diagnosis and the initial wrong treatment, which worsened his condition.

Atul Parchure reveals when he found out that he was suffering from cancer

In a latest interview with a YT channel, Atun Parchure revealed how he learnt about suffering from cancer. He mentioned that it was during his trip to Australia and New Zealand, when he felt the symptoms for the first time. Elaborating on the incident, Atul shared:

"I had completed 25 years of my wedding. I was fine when we went to Australia and New Zealand. But after a few days, I wasn't able to eat anything. I felt nauseous, and knew something was wrong. My brother later gave me some medicines but they didn't help me."

Atul shares he was told about having a 5 cm long cancerous tumour in his liver

In the same conversation, Atul revealed that after doing his ultrasonography, the doctors found a 5 cm-long cancerous tumour in his liver. However, the 56-year-old actor, who is suffering from cancer, didn't lose hope. Instead, he confidently asked the doctors whether he had chances of recovery or not. He said:

"After visiting many doctors, I was asked to get ultrasonography done. When the doctor did it, I saw fear in his eyes and I felt there was something wrong. I was told I have a tumor about 5 centimeter long in my liver and that it is cancerous. I asked him whether I would recover or not, and he said, 'Yes, you will'."

Atul reveals how his initial wrong treatment worsened the condition

Further, Atul opened up about the treatment that followed. He recalled his symptoms while undergoing the wrong treatment, leading his doctor to think about surgery. However, he revealed how other major factors were related to the wrong treatment, and his health deteriorated further. Atul added:

"My first procedure after being diagnosed went wrong. My pancreas got affected, and I started having issues. The wrong treatment actually worsened the condition. I couldn't even walk. I used to fumble while talking. In such a condition, the doctor asked me to wait for one and a half months. They said if they'd do the surgery, I'd get jaundice for years and my liver will be watery or I won't survive. Later, I changed the doctor and took proper medication and chemotherapy."

Atul also mentioned how he lost many opportunities for suffering from cancer

Atul mentioned that he is still uncertain about his recovery and will learn about it soon. And the actor, who has been part of The Kapil Sharma Show for years, lost out on working with the team due to his health. Atul stated that otherwise, he could have accompanied them on their international tour. The actor explained:

"I have been doing Kapil Sharma for many years. They called me to play Sumona's father. I could not perform in those episodes due to my cancer. I could have gone on the international tour with Kapil. I will soon know whether I have recovered completely or not."
