Bengaluru techie, Atul Subhash held his wife, Nikita, responsible for his suicide. Here's all you need to know about Nikita, who's employed with Accenture and seemingly has a good salary package.
Atul Subhash's suicide has yet again brought the issues of '#MenLivesMatter' and '#MenToo' into the limelight. For the unversed, it was on December 9, 2024, when a Bengaluru-based techie, Atul Subhash, committed suicide, leaving behind his 24-page suicide note, a 90-minute video, and a checklist featuring his last wishes. Atul, in his suicide note, held his wife, Nikita Singhania, responsible for the drastic step that he took after failing to find a solution against the legal system that supported his wife, who filed 9 cases against him.
Atul Subhash, in his 24-page suicide note, accused Nikita Singhania of 'explicit instigation for suicide' and mentioned that she had lodged nine cases against him, including murder, sexual misconduct, harassment for money, domestic violence, and dowry. Nikita had demanded Rs. 3 crore alimony along with Rs. 80,000 per month for maintenance. Not only this, she also reportedly kept Atul away from his son. In his 24-page suicide note, which was titled 'Justice is Due' on every page, Atul Subhash listed down his last wishes, and in one of them, he asked his family not to do his Asthi Visarjan until his harassers were punished.
The incident has left everyone in shock and raised the questions yet again. Talking about Nikita Singhania, as per reports, she first demanded Rs. 1 crore for alimony, which she later increased by Rs. 2 crore, making it a total of Rs. 3 crore. When Atul tried to explain that he didn't have that much money during the case hearing, the district court judge, Rita Kaushik, mentioned that he certainly had that much money, for which his wife happened to demand the same. The judge also demanded a bribe of Rs. 5 lakh to settle the case. After this incident made rounds on social media, it entirely had its effect, and now, everyone has the demand that Atul Subhash should be served with justice. Not only that, but it was also demanded that Nikita Singhania be fired by her current company.
Amid all this, let us know about Nikita Singhania. Delhi-based AI-engineer, Nikita had a B.Tech degree from Banasthali Vidyapith, following which, she bagged her MBA degree in Finance from Jaipuria Institute of Management. She began her career as an intern in two companies, Codex Infosolutions and HDB Financial Services Ltd. Later, she also worked with Meritto. Nikita joined the IT company, Accenture as a senior analyst in 2021, following which she was promoted, and became a consultant. It's worth mentioning that she seems to have deactivated her LinkedIn profile a while ago. As per Nikita's current post, and if the data on Glassdoor is to be matched, her current salary could have been estimated to be between Rs. 5-12 LPA, including base and additional pay in Accenture.
As per reports, Atul Subhash and Nikita Singhania got married in 2019, and they have a four-year-old son. As per Atul's family, the problems between the couple started cropping over the years when Nikita's family started demanding money. Atul was asked to pay Rs. 30 lakh to meet his son, and he was reportedly paying Rs. 2 lakh per month for the expenses of their son, but still, he was not able to meet the little one. In his suicide note, Atul Subhash demanded his son's custody should be given to his parents.
