In a recent interaction, Ayushmann Khurana recalled how he used to impersonate a female voice whenever his girlfriend's father picked up his call.
Ayushmann Khurana is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood, who has often mesmerised his fans with his versatile performances. And with his latest film, Dream Girl 2, the magnanimously talented actor, will be seen turning himself into a girl, named Pooja. From the initial glimpses of the film, it is obvious that Ayushmann had put in a lot of effort to ace the role.
As the actor is currently on a promotional spree, in a recent interaction with ANI, Ayushmann revealed how he prepped up for the role. He also revealed how he used to impersonate a female voice whenever his girlfriend’s father picked up his call. Speaking about the same, he said:
“My Radio jockey and theatre stint really helped me greatly, especially in this film. I used to make prank calls as a woman when I was working at the radio station. Moreover, I used to call my first girlfriend and would pretend to be her female friend if her dad picked up the landline.”

Ayushmann was recently in Delhi for the launch of the song, Dil Ka Telephone 2.0 and during one of the media interactions, he revealed how difficult it was for him to switch roles between Karam and Pooja. Talking about the same, he said:
“The 2.0 version of ‘Dream Girl’ is not just about the voice, its also about the ‘being’. Its transformation, look, and after shooting for this film I have realised it’s too difficult to be a woman. Ladki bannaa bahot mushkil hai, or Ladki hona usse bhi jyada mushkil. Its all for feminism.”
Recipient of a National Award and four Filmfare awards, Ayushmann won millions of hearts with his debut performance in Vicky Donor. After winning the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut, he stunned everyone with his performances in movies like Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Badhaai Ho, Andhadhun, and Article 15.

Throughout Ayushmann’s highs and lows, if there was someone, who was his constant, then that was his wife, Tahira Kashyap. Ayushmann Khurrana had met his ladylove, Tahira Kashyap for the first time in their Physics tuition in class 12th. It was in 2001 when Ayushmann Khurrana confessed his love over a phone call to Tahira Kashyap and seven years later, the couple had tied the knot. Tahira and Ayushmann have created a beautiful paradise with their two little munchkins, Virajveer and Virushka.
Ayushmann’s much-awaited film, Dream Girl 2 is slated to release on August 25, 2023.
