For those who don’t know Ayushmann is not just a great actor but also a loving husband. Last year in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the actor revealed the reason why he kept a fast for his wife, Tahira on Karwa Chauth. He said, “For the past two years we have been fasting together. This is the first time Tahira couldn’t, as she’s undergoing chemotherapy. I decided to go ahead with it alone. She was really touched.” He further added, “It was kind of a role reversal in this patriarchal world but came straight from the heart. Even on my family WhatsApp group, everyone was giving us their blessings.”
In an earlier interview with DNA, Ayushmann and Tahira shared how their love story kick-started in school. Tahira said, “We would go to the same Physics class and I had a crush on Ayushmann. I never thought we’d talk. Also, in Chandigarh, if a girl is slightly good looking, the boys keep hounding her. In most cases, it’s like harassment. But he didn’t approach me throughout the year and I was like, here’s one guy who isn’t troubling me.” On which Ayushmann quipped, “Kissi ne mujhe kabhi palatke hi nahin dekha!” To which Tahira added, “Rubbish! I got good vibes from him. Our parents were friends and they invited us to dinner. Aur inka ghar bahut zyada filmy tha. There was this huge Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham portrait of him, his mom, dad, and his brother. My friend and I wanted to know how we would fare in the exams since his dad is an astrologer. Then he came and bowled me over with a song.” (You May Also Like: Sreesanth's Wife, Bhuvneshwari Says Bigg Boss 12 Winner Dipika Kakar Was Never Seen Without Him)
Tahira further revealed how their relationship changed after marriage and said, “We actually got off the braces and spectacles together. We went through adolescence, puberty, and becoming a man and woman. He has grown into a great human being. He did have some idiosyncrasies. When we were in college, he was like, ‘Dekho, after marriage, you will not work.’ And I laughed. From that to being a producer is a long journey.”
Ayushmann added, “Shah Rukh Khan had once said ‘Pyaar dosti hai’ and I believe that. Tahira and I have been great friends since Class 12. So that dosti evolved into a relationship and finally culminated into marriage, which has lasted because of companionship more than anything else. You discover each other emotionally and physically but if you are not friends, it won’t survive for too long.” (Don't Miss: 2.0 Star Amy Jackson Is Now Engaged To Her Multi-Millionaire Boyfriend, George Panayiotou)
