Baba Siddique was a renowned figure in the Bollywood film industry. The 66-year-old Muslim leader was known to throw grand Iftar parties, which were attended by Bollywood's top stars. It was on 12th October when famous politician Baba Siddique was assassinated near Bandra's Kherwadi signal, sending shockwaves to the entire Mumbai. The NCP leader Baba Siddique and former minister of Maharashtra was shot multiple times when he was coming out of his son, Zeeshan Siddique's office and was heading towards his car. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital but was announced dead around 11.30 pm. It was at Cooper Hospital where his post-mortem took place.
Baba Siddique's hold was not just in the political domain but also in the Bollywood movie industry. The entire Bollywood film fraternity mourned as soon as the news of the senior politician's death flashed the headlines. Sanjay Dutt was one of the few stars who was immediately spotted outside Lilavati Hospital and met the family of the late politician.
Sunil Dutt's son, Sanjay Dutt, had a strong bond with the NCP leader. Reportedly, he viewed Baba Siddique as his guide and friend. The Former Maharashtra Minister had given the Agneepath actor a lot of emotional support when he was in a legal soup under the Arms Act. The duo was often seen together in social gatherings, where they celebrated every little milestone that took place in one another's lives.
It is believed that Sanjay Dutt's father late Sunil Dutt, had a unique relationship with the charismatic Baba Siddique. Dutt treated the late leader Baba Siddique like his own son and not a political ally. A report by Star Biopic says that Zeeshan's father, Siddique, met Sunil Dutt when he was a young chap. As years passed by, his relationship with the entire Dutt family strengthened. Baba Siddique was involved in film and charitable initiatives by Sunil Dutt. They worked together and united the Hindi film fraternity for social awareness work, from charity to cultural events. Siddiqui had become Sunil Dutt's loyal friend and supporter till the end.
It is said that even after Sunil Dutt passed away, Baba Siddique maintained a good relationship with Sanjay Dutt and Priya Dutt. Both families were seen in the past attending social events, Iftar soirees, and family events.
Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra had arrived immediately at Lilavati Hospital when they heard about the tragic demise of Baba Siddique. The politician who was shot allegedly by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was very close to Shilpa and Raj. The actress was inconsolable and extremely emotional when she was spotted exiting the hospital after offering her condolences.
Taking to his IG stories after Baba's death, Raj Kundra penned a heartbreaking note and wrote:
"A man who embodied kindness, bringing people together wherever he went. My partner has only lost a brother-in-law, but a guiding light, someone she saw as a second father. Baba, your loss is unbearable, but those responsible will answer for it".
As per a News18 report, Salman Khan stalled the shooting of Bigg Boss 18 when he learned about Baba Siddique's untimely demise. Bhaijaan immediately rushed to Lilavati hospital to stand like a rock and support Siddique's shattered family. The duo had a strong bond, and the proof of this was that Salman had often attended Siddique's Iftar bashes for years.
Amid tight security, Salman was also seen visiting Siddique's home to pay his last homage. Viral clips circulating on social media showed the actor teary-eyed, his eyes screaming with engulfed sadness. Salman and Siddique's bond lasted more than two decades. The entire Bollywood and political circle knew about their friendship, which was beyond professional association.
It is alleged that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan's fight started in 2008 after the duo had a heated exchange of words at Katrina Kaif's birthday. A report by India Today claimed that both the actors stopped speaking with one another for five years. It was on April 17, 2013, when both the Khans attended Siddique's Iftar party.
As per an India Today report, Siddique had made SRK sit next to Salim Khan, Salman's dad. A situation was created where both the megastars had to come face-to-face in front of each other. It was at that time when both the Khans hugged one another, keeping their egos aside and became friends once again. Siddique acted as a peacemaker between Shah Rukh and Salman. However, he said:
"They both wanted it... Allah shows the way. I had no role to play."
Baba Siddique shall always remain in the hearts of celebrities from the Hindi film fraternity. His impact on Bollywood was unmatched and filled with extreme loyalty.
